A great majority of things in physics is theoretical. That doesn't mean physicists don't factor them into their equations. Theoretical only means we haven't discovered it through experimentation, but the mathematics fits. Sub-sub-atomic particles like quarks are theoretical as well, but we know that they are there.

 

And as for time travel, I don't mean to douse your terrible pun's flames, but it is impossible based on that very premise. We know what the future holds because we cannot travel back in time right now. That means that we can never travel back in time because if at any point in time we ever discover time travel, time travel must exist at all points in time. If time travel exists in the future, it exists right now; we have to have time travelers among us right at this very moment.

 

That's a paradox, Panda. And paradoxes cannot, by their very definition, exist.
