Okay I just got back from the movie.  Let me warn you if you are reading this.  If you got motion sickness from watch The Blair Witch Project, don't see this movie.  Oy Vey!  Yes I got sick.

From the parts I did see, the movie was intense.  I liked it.  The monster was sick looking.

this movie was absolutely amazing! stop reading here cuz spoilers are gonna follow! (highlight to read)

The entire plot, the way they filmed the movie, the monster itself, the graphics...*EVERYTHING* was stunning. Unlike some "horror" genre movies of today (grude) this movie was full of suspense. When the one chick started bleeding out her eye and said "I dont feel so well" then someone screamed about "we have a bite!" and they took her away? then she popped? I loved it, it was dramatic, stressful, and it put you in the moment.

All in all, the main man behind the camera, i forget his name really, pissed me off. He was annoying and rather pathetic as a tag along. But how he died at the end of the movie really made me feel sad for him... In fact thats two other things I loved about this movie, it wasn't predictable (I thought the chick who got in the helicopter was gonna die as well as several other moments) and even the ending of the movie came off tragically beautiful. The lines "I love you" "I love you too" often can't be pulled off well. But with the repeated camera flash backs kicking in leading up to that last line before they die. and then showing that final scene "It was a good day" showing them in all their happiness and what might have been if they lived on, was actually quite touching. Anyways I'm a sap for directors who are willing to kill people off.

Really? I enjoyed it quite a bit and I've been recommending it to all my friends. I found it to be genuinely scary, even though I wanted to slap the main characters several times.  "What...What are you DOING? Don't go in THERE!"

LOL yeah I had that reaction as well Kathana. Tunnels should never be considered IMO. As far as the booing, I really didn't understand it. I think the ending was not appreaciated. *g* They obviously were in the minority though since the movie raked it in. Is it wrong that that restores some of my faith in humanity?

Wait, a movie that involves a giant Cthulu monster ravaging New York City, Has restored yoru faith in humanity?

Am I reading that wrong? Or Am I just seeing the Irony in that? ;)

I liked the idea and the special effects. The characters on the other hand were barely acceptable, and i think ultimately because they attempted to focus the movie on the aforemention magical monster love it ultimately ruined what otherwise might have been brilliant.
