new bore?

a very interesting thing just occurred to me. Why have the forsaken not re drilled the bore after their release? Fel said that no man could match the creator, and lanfear managed to bore the original, so why not do it again? they have so many channelers at their command, why bother trying to destroy all the seals.

The original bore was drilled in the AOL almost certainly with channeling using technalogy.  That an experienced scientific research team could do it in the AOL does not mean that the choosen have the tools (or a way to make them) in the present primative civilization.

I can't see any of the Forsaken, aside for Morriden, wanting the bore opened at this point in the story.  They're all still fighting for top position amonst themselves.  As it stands, Morriden has that place.  Lanfear, up until Morriden got his hands on her, wanted to team up with Rand and replace the DO and Creator.  I think they all have their own plans to be Nae'blis when the DO is released.  Releasing him now would only make sure Morriden has that place.

Granted, I still don't think that they have the ability to break the create a "new" bore or open the existing bore further.  The current bore is blocked by LTT's seal, not the original seal.  Lanfear's knowledge might not be particularly useful against the current seals.  The only thing that can weaken the seals is the DO, and he's doing that.  Besides, they don't know the location of the seals to break them anyway.

the forsaken are fighting for position, true, but it makes sense that the one who freed the DO would promoted instantly out of gratitude on the DO's part.

also there was never any mention of the use of technology in the drilling of the bore. Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time said that Lanfear was trying to access a power source that both men and women could tap into, and makes no mention of any technology.

Besides, how would you bore through the pattern with any mechanical device? It is insubstantial, and could not be accessed by any normal means. the only way you could use a machine was if it was a ter'angreal, and those use the one power. the effect they have could be easily replicated with the power.

any forsaken who released the DO would be exalted above all the others, even Moridin, and the reasons related to the power do not stand up to logical reasoning.

Maybe.  Moridin has already been named the leader of the Forsaken by the DO.  It would be a lot safer if Moridin simply died BEFORE the DO was free.

Also, I'm still not sure that even Lanfear could break LTT's barrier on the current bore.   They're two different things.

Lanfear lead the effort to create the original bore, but I'm sure she probably had a powerful circle that she was leading with sa'angreal.  None of the current Forsaken have any sa'angreal and wouldn't trust each other to link.

If I remember correctly, there were attempts to open the seal all the way during the War of Power, but they were unsucessful.  Unfortunately, I can't remember where I read that...
