Things Chris does in a slow roll ISO that I don't like (and there will be points regardless of his alignment because no one posts 300 times without saying a thing or two that's going to ping me)

I don't like his push on Ben earlier.  Calling him out for scum reading me while asking me to help him lynch scum was silly, I think, in so far as villagers make "well if you really are town then prove it" type statements all the time.  Meanwhile Chris took the tunnel at face value and never considered that Ben could be feigning continued confusion to cover for his initial gaff.  "I think YOU, on the other hand, have absolutely been tunneling on him" maybe reads a bit like lecturing a villager but he was presumably not trusting of Ben in the slightest yet at this point?  He does raise some positive points when Sooh asked him to lay out his stance on Ben shortly afterwards, and they might have been going through his head at the time.  Would reasonably explain it from a town POV.

Clov, I'm just doing it for the lulz man

Seriously tho. I'm not convinced he isn't mafia. I'm thinking that the Verb, Tiink, Ben trio is where the Mafia is. I really do want to hear his cases on BFG and you. Not really because I think it will be valid but to see how he is thinking. I think he is giving too much credit to Tiink for his "wagonomics" post. I actually think no lynch was a viable position with the votes as they were. Might have been better if it came with more time.

I made the vote in part because he hadn't been in thread yet. His stance on me is rubbish also. It seems he really knows I'm town but wanted to keep me out of the town pool.

Are you crazy?  I said you're probably town because of your role......but I've seen town/mafia lovers before, so it isn't 100% until a flip.....but still probably town.  How is that keeping you out of the pool?  I put you in and have the others as the WTL pool....you make no sense, lol.

One of the people not contributing a ton is prob one of the scum, with the other likely being a thread leader.

That means....

Me/Tiink/Ben

and

BFG/Shad/Clov

with Turin kind of on the outside looking in as he's probably a cleared Lover.  That is where my head's at right now.  I know I'm not scum, and I had Ben as blue from D1....so that means I think by POE Tiink could be one of them.

As for the other, ffs I have no idea.

Gun to head, scum team is Tiink/BFG

Why on earth would I be chucking my teammate into the crossfire like this mylo.

That post is where I lied, lol.  I did say I lied, remember?

Newsflash:  Tiink is town

More at 11.

Ben is also still town.

So am I.

Turin probably town.

The emphasis is obviously intentional so there's that but

Really?

If Turin flips scum lover you're his partner ~always.

Wat?  Besides the fact that he's voting me (you did mention this, so ok), I'm putting him aside as town due to his role and that somehow makes me scum if he is?  That logic leap tho.

@ Verb ok you did explain it later. Just answer my first question then

Can you elaborate on how his wagonomics chat impacts your read on him vs how mine impacts your read on me?

I read into the wagonomics in the same exact way.  I'm a townie.  While I accept that scum can imitate their town self sometimes, the way his thoughts came across while analyzing jived with mine.  Yes, not the strongest read, but I think he's town.

Verb: his position on Tiink and Ben feels wrong/fake. Again I think he is giving excessive credit to Tiink for his wagonomics. The bit with Shad Re: Sooh pinged to me also. As does his continued shade at me. It is unnecessary and I feel it is an attempt to discount my views.

Holy hell, dude.  I have cast NO shade at you.  Literally none.  You need to relax, re-read, and then re-evaluate.  My god.....this is bizarro stuff, man.

That being said I think it's pretty obvious that for all of my inability to make up my mind I'm probably more likely to vote one of Verb or Tiink than one of BFG or Clov.

I want to know why Verb blatantly drew attention to Ben and especially Tiinker being more likely town than Turin.

I want to know Verb's assessment of my wagonomics statements made by people who aren't Tiink since that seems to matter so much for him.

You're dealing in semantics now.....which, btw, I say scum do all the time.

The point is they are all probably town.  I emphasized it with Turin because it is less about my read of him and more about his role likely making him town.

My point in asking was that I had posted a great deal of wagonomics chatter before Tiink did. If this is the sort of thing that you take as highly valuable information, it struck me as odd that you didn't voluntarily assess mine. I assume if you're town you put some thought into it even if your conclusion was null and not worth stating? I expected you to have some sort of thought on this even if the result was useless for your reads.

That's fair if you trust your reads more than mechanical probability, but it's not just semantics.

Literally a four post series of

Ben's town

Tiink's town

I'm town

Turin's probably town

I'm not nitpicking lines out of paragraphs here and there and going "aha!"  You made an intentional display about this.

Frankly the if Turin's scum you are immediate conclusion I jumped to was a matter of blatant TMI, like you emphasized the point because you knew you were going to be proven right.

But from a practical standpoint I absolutely don't believe Turin's going to flip scum unless I see it, and I really doubt he drops a vote on you of all people if he's a wolf who is top consensus town and free to push a lynch on pretty much anyone he wants this phase without scrutiny.

BFG why are you not focused more on Chris?

If you are town and he is town then we can probably win this.  (At least, from my POV knowing I'm town and pretty firmly convinced that Ben is, therein lies the solve.)

Basically if we're going to lose this game we're going to lose to a deepwolf Clovdyx, don't you think?  Doesn't make him scum obviously, but I would expect more focus there?  He's where my head instinctively focused when I woke up this morning.

Verb I also want your full read on Chris, shad and myself

And preferably some wagons analysis, did you disagree with Tiinker on anything, do you have additional thoughts?

Verb I still want to know about your ate thing with ben

IMO, I think it is a cheap way for scum to win with AtE used in this way, or any way actually.  I feel like townies use it way more than scum.  I was town on Ben from early on, and that helped seal the deal for me.  I've read people wrongly based on AtE before, so I take a hard stance on it.  Townies do it most often, and I'll call scum cheap winners that use it to make people back off them.  That's that.

I don't recall anything you posted on wagonomics jumping out at me during my catchup, honestly.

I use AtE a lot as scum and generally don't accept the idea that villagers have a card they can use to clear themselves that's off limits to wolves

but

Ben's is pretty damn sincere

Posted

I guess I tend to reach a point where I go "ok, realistically I'm always going to vote one of these people as things stand" and further assessment of them will either 1) not change my mind or 2) change my mind and leave me clueless who I want to vote an hour out from deadline

So I focus on making sure the people I'm not going to vote are in that boat for good reasons.

If I look at individual posts of Ben I think town, his overall approach is scummy

Which matters more in Mafia in general and how does that apply here?

Dar'Jen literally didn't post a single read for the entirety of Gilmore Girls and was the most consensus villagers in the field by the end.

Bluntly I can spend the time I have figuring him out or I can try and figure out the rest of the game

Also thoughts and stuff

I should add that I mean more in the "giving up" sort of way. I hate AtE in general, and think it's a cheap tactic, sorry.

Am I stupid for entertaining the idea of no lynching?

This also sketched me out and was kind of the point where I started trending towards wolf on him D1.

Is this normal for Chris?

Posted

I don't really disagree using ate as a tactic is ugh, but Ben ATEs as town and scum maybe someone better at tone can tell the difference

Posted

Also I really don't think Ben loses interest in a game he's winning as scum.

He was really enthusiastic and into it last game.

In a vacuum I don't see it unless his scum QT is a ghost land i.e. Tiink

Outside of a vacuum I think he's just a frustrated villager.
