Reading through Clov in a more structured way, it's hard to tell if what he's saying is useful because he keeps referring to past games which gives me zero context on whether or not he's actually helping or if these posts are just jargon because who on earth is going to go a double check that

I feel I've done plenty of discussing THIS game for you to have thoughts on me.  I don't think there's anyone I haven't addressed and interacted with on some level.  And I realized I'm biased here, but I think it's pretty obvious that any reference to an old game is honest - if I just starting making stuff up through my teeth, somebody's going to call me on it.

Rereading the thread I could honestly buy BFG/Clov as a scum team. He comes out to her defence pretty handily and succeeds in diffusing the tension a little bit. Doesn't take a direct stance but says enough to make sure there's a visible counter-argument. The timing makes sense given that if we mislynch then scum wins. The follow up double distancing by BFG calling Clov out looks like something I've seen many times.

I honestly can't answer that without a proper ISO of both of you.

My impression was that you started out pretty suspicious of her and it transitioned to conflicted and then to a town lean with some reservations, and by the talk with Tiink I felt like you were fairly sure she was town

I'm not sure if BFG is actually claiming you're scum reading her there or just calling your progression unnatural? But the fact that her exact stance isn't clear to me is weird to me?

Basically?  I've never been as confident on her as I have been on you, Sooh, or Turin after his claim, but close enough.

Bold - Where are you seeing this?

Underline - Counter-argument to what?

Hm.  Okay.

I kinda want to see where this goes.

One of the people not contributing a ton is prob one of the scum, with the other likely being a thread leader.

That means....

Me/Tiink/Ben

and

BFG/Shad/Clov

with Turin kind of on the outside looking in as he's probably a cleared Lover.  That is where my head's at right now.  I know I'm not scum, and I had Ben as blue from D1....so that means I think by POE Tiink could be one of them.

As for the other, ffs I have no idea.

Gun to head, scum team is Tiink/BFG

Why on earth would I be chucking my teammate into the crossfire like this mylo.

Here's the big question:  if you are town, why aren't you jumping at the potential solve of BFG/Clov?  Didn't you even mention it before (somebody did)?  Why not question my town reads and make sure you agree, and we mechanically lock this game?

Why aren't you doing that?

I actually dropped the possibility of a Clov/BFG scum team about 428958935 times in this thread before anyone else was willing to humor it.

And I chatted with both of them for about 348954895 pages and concluded that it was still possible but I needed to step back and direct my attention elsewhere.

And then I evaluated Tiink and he looked bad.

This is hilarious to me. You were talking about how you liked all of my posts less than 24 hours ago and you've done a complete 180 ever since. You're literally never going to read me correctly and I might have to play with the idea of you being scum after all.

Tone != content.

Do I look like a wolf? Go on. I'd love to hear it.

Ben is probably scum (pending actual reread)

The plus points I have are still mostly focused in the early game play and the Brian claim in response to shads initial you a wolf post. His game play hasn't been clean (the early apparent contradiction (i don't think it's actually a contradiction when chased through his explanations it just looks that way) in scum reading shad while also saying it's more likely from town!shad)

However his approach to the game in a broader level is in line with his scum game, he's focused on Shad in a vast majority of his posts and shows no interest in resolving anyone else. His approach to shad still reminds me of his approach to Liz last game (with all the same caveats that I wasn't paying enough attention to that game etc), and his confidence is similar to his sub in in Tennis libre. His actual style as town varies game to game, in his mu game that just finished he was far more curious and questioning, in SS he was more of an active observer, but in both he had a far broader focus, while as mafia he gets stuck in reads

Awkward post and again feels like it comes from a place of "feeling like I need to do something". The substance in this just isn't there for this to be a genuine scum-hunt imo. We're basically end-game regardless of what Day, I don't see how it can be a real scum-hunting post that's so heavily emphasizing meta..

Posted

What does this even mean? I contradict myself but not really but that's cool because it's not clean even if it's consistent?

Yeah, I tend to latch onto a person as scum and hammer them until they get lynched, and as town, I move around more. That's a good observation, a viable case, and something I need to clean up in my scum game, but I am still town, and I have never been attacked right out of the gate before, which has thrown my town meta off here. A good play by wolf!Shad. I am also still Brian the dog, and if you're town, we can talk about this after the game, but I am having my doubts.

Well okay, I can OMGUS here. Everyone thinks you're scum, and since your timing on turning on me after an entire game of "probably town" coincides with me mailing it in to the dismay of the other players looks like taking the sick calf in the herd. #wolfy

[v]BFG[/v]

Throwing you off for a moment is fine. Throwing you off for a real life week and claiming it's my fault is .  That being said I still don't think you played like this last game (yeah we killed Liz N1 so you couldn't have tunneled her all game if you'd wanted to but I don't think you ever really intended to and you just kept your vote parked there to avoid taking a stance on a bunch of village wagons?)

My thoughts on Verb are that he's injected some life into the game which is cool. That said, his reasoning about feeling good about the way people are playing doesn't help me at all. His reads are pretty null imo and he's claimed town reads on two people without really saying much which is sketchy. I'm feeling good about Ben since he's got a no-f*s-given and voted my top scum read. I can't imagine he does a reckless move like that as scum when he's close to winning the game. If he ends up scum and it was a ploy then that's balls deep. Hat's off to him.

In other words, my reads haven't developed much since the beginning of Day with BFG, Clov and Verb in my bottom pile.

If the scum team actually turns out as BFG/Clov/Shad then I might legitimately retire from the game.

He was super sketched out by the idea of bussing as a wolf.  I told him LZM was always going down D2 and his nervousness about taking advantage of that was what eventually lead to the two of us dumping our votes on you instead.  When we were getting to panic mode near the end he was open to more options but if the scum team is Ben and BFG they should not have been in panic mode here.

I'm not sure why you are saying this. Are you agreeing with me?

Not the feels good because he voted BFG because I'm not quite as concerned about BFG as you are, but I'm agreeing that if she's scum he isn't.

What do you think about Verb basically hard clearing you when you were starting to gain traction?  And how does a scumread on him fit with BFG and me as candidates?

Posted

Also the vote dump on BFG doesn't really align with his self-awareness in the last game.  I wanted him to push hard on Kaylee and he was really hesitant because he'd been calling her his top town read all game.  I don't understand his town brain but I think his scum brain here takes the easier route of voting a villager between you and Verbal.

Posted

Because Shad/me/Turin have all expressed being open to you, and I don't think BFG had said anything about you until recently.  Verb came in and actively took a position of defending you once you started to get attention, and he's still townreading the other person you are (Ben).

Having him still as a scumread shouldn't really make sense from your POV, especially when his three person POE has two of the same people yours does.
