Outside of the symp being within you, Verb, or Nyn I feel like those are good players to force out early on so ~not Goons. This is without having any proper read on Nyn or Verb yet and discounting FPS wifomy stuff.

Which means the two scum that know each other would be within the remaining six. I feel like Sooh will be an easy enough read one way or another. I cleared Ben correctly last game and got a mod view of his scum game recently. I think I have an idea of how to read SK. Lenlo/LZM will be interesting to pick from.

What do you think?

Are you saying this because you don't think scum would put themselves up against me or you?

Not necessarily. I just think it’s smarter strategy for scum to put players that are typically easy to town read/clear/are vocal, etc. against each other and force them out of the bracket as quickly as possible.

I agree that she did seem excited, with all the gifs. She tends to be more robotic as scum, in my experience. AJ seems somewhat excited as well, but I'm not sure if it's cause he's pleased with his alignment or because of the nature of the game. Maybe both.

I still don't understand something though. AJ you seem all "savvy" and a know it all so maybe you can respond.

Lets say we vote correctly in a scum/town pairing and the scum is out of the tournament.... that means that scum is still in the game and able to vote and we don't actually know we bagged scum?

I’m gonna reread the setup to make sure I grasp it completely but to my understanding the D2 bracket would be the three who advance from D1 without getting killed and one of the losers getting subbed back in. The other three alive can still post and vote accordingly.

I understand your point and even agree. The only problem with that is if one of those players randed scum this game. That changes things a bit. Because it might draw negative attention if one of them was suddenly put up against a player that often gets misread/mislynched.

In most cases, though, your conclusion is prolly correct.

Having one of the losers being subbed back in seems like the perfect recipe for wifom.

Yes because a loser that gets subbed back in can be either alignment, imo. Since we don't actually know flips after D1.

It seems kinda OP to me though. If scum are able to eliminate two players then I would assume they can't ALSO sub back a scum loser. But there's no telling with Shad.

Actually OP says the game only goes to N1 if the scum aren’t eliminated D1. So if we advance everyone correctly then the game is over.

That's fine. But there's also the possibility that we get 1/2. We just won't know it, I'm guessing. And it's also a question if scum can put back the loser scum.

That's a good description of BFG.

I have a hard time capturing AJ as scum, so I don't have a read on him yet. I'm only voting against him because of BFG really.

Speculation:

Regardless of who wins match 1 and 2 (if those are our intended high profile pairings), scum can eliminate all 4 from the competition by essentially having two of them turn to tree stumps and the two others be the winners who flip.

Match 3, 4 and 5's winners go on to play D2 pairings along with one of the losers from the same group.

In order to ensure not losing on D1, would scums pair up in a straight up scum pair? One would move on as a winner, and the other could be the loser being put back into the game.

That’s a wrinkle I hadn’t thought out. Like if we eliminate both Goons but the Symp makes it - game goes on? Also I don’t think there’s a restriction on what alignment they could sub back in so in theory they could put their scum buddy back in.

Interesting. We just gotta be perfect.

That’s all.

Unavoidable really.

Would still like him to weigh in though. If he's town he can be helpful in finding scum.

Theoretically the D2 bracket could be both Goons and the symp plus one townie and the other three still able to vote. They can’t win unless the final two are both scum.

This might be harder than I thought cause I hadn’t considered them pairing off D1 to ensure one advances to D2. They same could apply in the second bracket as well to make sure one makes it to the Finals. In that scenario we would know one of the two is scum though. I like those odds.

I'll be honest I'm liking both BFG and AJ right now. I'm maybe leaning a bit more towards voting AJ atp if only cause BFG is usually straightforward and easier to read where's I tinfoil a lot more about AJ. But it really wouldn't surprise me if they're both town. I won't make a call atp but that's where my head is at atm.

I’m okay with that. Even if I don’t advance I might be left alive and can still weigh in, which might be the preferable position.

It's also a matter of whether or not they'd be able to put back in a loser scum. If that were the case it changes things considerably. If they can't, then I don't think they sacrifice one of them like that.

Assuming everyone cross votes in their matchups I don’t think ties are possible unless it’s done intentionally so, which favors the scum. So that’s important to remember.

Also they’re not going to shoot their partner (maybe the symp lol) but there will always be at least two scum alive ITT to muddy things up.

This is gonna be fun
