I might YOLO a town read on DPR because even though I think he's well off the mark on Seph, I know he's a player that...takes a different approach than I do.  I think you probably get what I'm getting here (hint: Discord, a while back).  So even though I'm all but convinced Seph is town, I could very easily see Town!DPR concerned about those posts.

 

I'm not seeing whatever it is that's so glaringly townie about Ed at all.  I appear to be somewhat in the minority on that, so I'd love to discuss it (with anyone, fwiw).

 

Killa is pretty much completely null.  If people are removing her from the Day 1 pool because she's a new player, that's fine, and I don't have a problem with it at this point.  I kind of skimmed the last few pages so I need to reread to be sure, but I hadn't noticed anything particularly worth pushing her over before that.

 

DPR is not out of the woods yet in terms of where I stand, but I'm not interested in killing him today I don't think. Not barring something major happening. 

 

I agree on Killa, it's hard to read a new player you barely know, and besides her jumping at Ed's prompt to vote Monstr there's nothing much to go on there in terms of scummy behavior.

I liked his opening posts because of the aggressiveness nature to them, it rung a bell to last game (sorry a bit of meta) when he came out swinging against me. Lets be honest I think most people I first play with think im scummy lol. I have kinda went a full circle with ed and am back to thinking he is <rand.

clov what exactly are you having a problem with ed? I stated my view on the killashandra vote and I believe thats what you are hung up on still?

 

I am looking at it like this.

 

1. if ed comes in as mafia and wants to push a first time player( even if he is drunk) I would think he would take more care in his pushes and read/plan it out more than what had happened. It just drew so much attention imo. but I honestly think as mafia even if he would have messed up eh would stand by his vote and how he read the original post and how he even came to that conclusion even if wrong.  

 

2. If town I see Ed viewing a potential slip as being more excited that he caught 1 (which is how i read it) how he even questions me about it seemed towny imo.

 

I am in no mean comfortable with him, but I have him as i said slightly town and would like to see more pushes out of him.

 

 

@ed what made you drop your original push on me, I read back and after clov posted some things you said you would let me yap at shad.

I'll admit I have an absolutely minimal baseline for Ed - unless I'm missing something, the only game I've seen him play is Fight Club, which means I have no idea how he plays as scum or what he's really comfortable doing as either alignment.  I get your point about trying to make it cleaner, but without really knowing him, I can't say.  He kind of reminds me of a player like Darthe, who I think will pretty much do what he feels like doing as either alignment...I'd guess alcohol probably doesn't help that :P

 

There was also the thing earlier with Monstr and Killa.  I didn't really understand going from "I don't really have strong reads early" to telling somebody else who to vote.  The fact that it was somebody I was (and still am, fwiw) pretty comfortably townreading doesn't help.  He explained it as seeing what she'd do, but, meh...just not sold on it.

 

I don't think he's guaranteed scum or anything like that, but Shad made a comment about he's playing the kind of scumgame that Shad struggles to, and I think somebody else (you, maybe?) suggested they were comfortable with him.  He's far from my comfortable zone right now.  He's made a couple of things that stood out to me, and he has a lot of fluffy and fairly short, emptyish posts that don't necessarily sway me in either direction very much.

Can you define "a lot"? I always try to point out scummy things when I see them. Also villagery things. Usually reads are harder to come by on D1, but I've had goodish games before.

Ed's drunkposting made me laugh in a way I always tend to think is slightly >rand villager, but i have cleared wolves with this tell before. I'm not really sure why he bothered to tell ks to vote me either, because I don't think there's any meaningful result that comes from a question like that unless KS makes a mistake and does something wolfy. That was why I said Ed/KS aren't on a wolfteam because it would just be too blatant and too bad of a play - ed has no reason to say what he did as a wolf with ks itt because

 

1) He has wolfchat and something like that would just be nonsense itt, especially if the other wolf decides to take the bait - it would just always look scummy no matter what and I don't THINK I see wolf ed making that play but I've never seen him wolf

 

2)I am an established OMGUSer and even slight experience with me can tell you that, even if I try to sort the reasons people vote me, it is still OMGUS and I tend to think most wolves recognize this and back off because they rather not deal with me. The rare exception is when wolves don't know me and aren't paying enough attention to me or the thread to find this out and they press me early in the game because on d1 sometimes I LOOK like an easy mislynch.

 

aorn I'm slightly inclined to think it's V/V but it's possible ed was just drunk. The whole "wanting to see what she'd do" bit also makes me think that if he is a wolf, ks is still a villager so

I take back my shad dad, it feels like something he would cackle about in a qt and I can't have that.

 

Had to quote his opening posts to illustrate the point that there is no "Darthe" in the Darthe posts.

 

No swagger. No giggling. Just kinda plain posting that could border on actual observation in a pinch. Then he evaporates for a bit, comes back and does it again for another half dozen posts.

 

Could be he's trying to be careful. He also mentioned that he had moved, but after the fact, whereas some people would have mentioned it before.

@seph since you wanted my take on Darthe -

 

DPR is right in the sense that Darthe is lacking. My "concerned he is a villager" comment is I guess my refutation that his current content is alignment indicative.

 

Darthe is not a lazy wolf who avoids the game. He takes a lot of pride in being able to put one past people and while he's lethargic so far that is something atypical of town AND mafia games. Maybe even a tiny bit more likely to be lethargic as a villager (I've seen him have lazy starts as town) but I refuse to really let myself read something like that bc it's a dumb way to let yourself get fooled by [nothing]

 

I need actual content to sift through before I really make a decision on him.
