I've loved your work since the age of 10, and I can't possibly think of a more epic tale than WoT.

My condolences to his friends and family.

I never met him but it is an easy thing to say that Jim was a role model in the truest sense of the word. He made a difference in my life and the lives of countless others. I can't think of a more noble persuit than the joy he spent years spreading. I can only hope, when the time comes for others to measure the worth of my life, that I've shown half of his courage and tenacity. For myself and the many Marines that have shared his beautiful world with me I wish him fair winds and following seas. Semper Fidelis Mr Rigney.

I sure hope he told someone who killed Asmodean...

The death in body of a great man, tho his spirit will live on through the Ages.

May the Wheel put him into the weave with Harriet and Wilson again sometime in the future.

My thoughts are with those he left behind, hopefully your time with him will give you the strength to live until its your time to rejoin him once more.

I am surprised at how saddened I am to hear this, I feel like he was someone I knew personally. Truly a great man and writer. His work brought so much joy to me, I can only thank him for the good years I've had from it.

His fight with that horrid illness was an inspiration. His dedication to his work: a testament to the man's character. He really did write until the last as he said he would. He will truly be missed by all who knew him and all fans of his great work.

My deepest sympathies to all members of the family, especially Harriet and Wilson. I can only imagine your greif. RIP Robert Jordan.

Big condolances to the family.

It's a pain to hear that RJ left us. At first, I didn't believe it.

I was working on a Book report about "The great hunt", That was Friday. 2 days later, he is no more.

It is terrible to see such a genious leave at still such a pretty young age, 58 is still pretty young to die. You know what they say, the good die young, and Robert Jordan was good.

I love his books and i read them with pleasures.

My condolences go to Harriet and everyone from RJ's family. May he rest in the creators hand, and may he rest in favor of the light. May he be reborn, on the peak of Kinslayers dagger.

I am completely shocked, and I don't think I will ever find another writer wich stories entertain me as much as his books did.

For me, he truly was a Ta'veren.

My greatest condolences to Harriet and the rest of RJ's family and friends, and my thanks to the man himself. I met many, many wonderful people through the Wheel of Time, including my closest friend. They will always be by far the most battered and creased books on my shelves.

He touched us all with his life, his strength and works. A great man who while he will be missed will always be with us through the marvels he created.

My first ever reaction to this blog, sad this is the reason. I am shocked to te core, could not grasp it at first. But my sincere condolenses to Harriet, Wilson and all relatives. My son and me wish you all the strength in the coming period. We will not forget the great dragon!

Was sagt man solchen Zeiten? Mehr als die Hälfte meines Lebens habe ich einer Geschichte gelauscht,

die nun vorbei ist, endgültig. Wie ein weiteres Stück Kindheit, dass man zurücklassen muss,

aber nicht vergisst, niemals. So schrecklich sein Tod ist, so schön ist es, das er gelebt hat.

Und ich frage mich wie man um jemand trauern kann, den man nie gesehen hat, aber ich tu's.

What can one say in such times? More than half of my life, I've been listening to a story which is now, finally, over. Like another piece of childhood one has to leave behind, but never ever forgets, never. Terrible is his death, as his life has been beautiful. And I wonder how one can mourn for those one never knew - but, hell, I do!

Words can't express the profound sadness in my heart at hearing this news. Other people have been able to more elegantly express my feelings after RJ's passing. I'll just settle with saying RJ, may you find your due reward for touching so many people's lives. Your legacy will live on in your work, fans and family.

I have three loves in this age... my wife, Star Wars, and RJ and "the Wheel of Time"... RJ, thank you for so many years of entertainment.... my deepest condolences go out to your wife, your family and your friends...

En France aussi nous sommes des milliers à ressentir un imense vide apres la perte de notre auteur favoris... Robert Jordan a fait bien plus pour nous que de nous faire rêver... Il nous a permis de nous rencontrer, il nous a offert des moments hors du temps entre fan de son oeuvre, des couples se sont mêmes formés grâce à lui... Il a réellement transformé certaines de nos vies, en mieux évidement. Apres avoir donné tant aux humains du monde entier (On retrouve la Roue du Temps dans les aéroports les plus lointains, comme en Thailande par exemple) l'endroit où il est maintenant ne peux etre que meilleur, nous lui souhaitons tous.

The Big Man has passed on, I can hardly believe it,

such a character as he will live on in the work that he has created... and what a collection of work! I'm sure I am not alone in thinking that his illness actually brought the fans into his life, we were hanging on to every post waiting to hear how the Big Man was doing as if he was a childhood friend who lived around the corner from each of us, and in a way he did.

He will not be forgotten.
