  1. Kopair was startled when he felt the tap on his shoulder to see the woman they'd been watching standing behind him. He turned and stared down into her eyes and smiled at her as he noticed the flush spreading over her face as she spoke to him.  Training?  This was bound to lead somewhere interesting.

"Veria," he said as his smile deepened. "It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Kopair, Mentee of Liitha. And for one as beautiful as you I'd be glad to give whatever training you require." Taking her hand in his he kissed it, a move he'd read about doing in stories, and could feel her pulse racing. "What did you have in mind?" He couldn't help but blush a little himself at the thoughts his own words brought into his mind.

Putting his hand on the small of her back he guided her away from his friends who all had stupid grins on their faces. "There are various sparring weapons available and I'm proficient in a few of them, especially the sword. I've also had training in hand-to-hand fighting. I'm yours to command."

  2. OOC: Agreed. Given her current outfit Kopair would have no idea who she is. :)

    IC:

Kopair walked through the yard with a group of friends. They'd just left the barracks and the others were pestering him with questions about his pending trip away from the Tower with his mentor Liitha.  They felt sure Kopair was going to mess up again if he left the Yard again and felt he'd be safer sticking around.  Kopair took their jokes with good grace, still feeling uncomfortable with the subject of his last trip away from the Yard.

The group stopped near the open area in front of the armory and Kopair noticed a woman running laps around the area.  Wearing tight fitting breaches like the other women come to study with the Warders he couldn't help but notice she had very nice legs. Kopair let out a soft whistle, one his friends instantly recognized, and they all turned to see.

"Who's that?" on of them asked. "I've never seen her before."

The group fell silent as she ran past with a smile and Kopair couldn't help but watch her from behind as she continued on her path.

"You've got good taste Kopair," said another of his friends.

With a wry twist to his mouth, Kopair turned to the friend that made the comment. "Good taste?" he asked. "It's true she's an attractive woman, but she's not a piece of meat. Still," he continued, watching her from the corner of his eye as she came near again, and lowered his voice some. "She certainly fills out those breaches well enough. Aran always told me I needed to be more open with women. I certainly wouldn't mind asking her for some training," he said with a grin as she passed by once more.

OOC: Kopair is going to be coming off kind of "women are a sex object" here, but I know from experience how guys are at that age around other guys. :P He's really a nice guy though. :)

  3. Kopair walked through the yard next to a young boy. He was a new Trainee and had alredy fallen afoul of a prank of some of the older Trainees. The boy had tried to fight them and Kopair had managed to just save him from himself. He was still smarting from the lecture Thera had given him, and still trying to redeem himself in the eyes of both her and Liitha. But that didn't stop Kopair from trying to help out where he could.

As the two of them walked through the Yard Kopair's eyes were drawn to an older man walking through the Yard. He felt the guards were right not to challenge him as he had come through the gates. Even to Kopair it was clear the man knew how to use the weapons he carried. Curious as to who he was, Kopair steered the boy toward where he'd seen him walking. They passed close by the tree he knew Aran liked to sit up in so couldn't help but glance up.

He shook his head and mumbled something, but did not stop.

"What did you say Kopair?" the boy asked as they began to walk away from the tree.

"Nothing important," he replied. "Just something reminded me of Aran."

"Aran?" he asked. "Who is that?"

"He is a man who taught me much, whom I haven't gotten a chance to see since I've been back. But nevermind him for now.  You should know better..."

His voice trailed away as Kopair and the boy walked out of earshot of where the man sat in the tree.

  4. “You insult me.”

Dre's head jerked up, the shock evident on her face, as the Aes Sedai spoke. She listened to her story without quite comprehending what was going on. How could she have ended up in this situation, with an Aes Sedai mad at her.  Waiting for her to finish, she didn't know what to say at first.  Why was it nobody seemed to understand?

"Estel, I never meant any insult to you. I..." she stammered slightly, afraid to put her foot wrong again. "I had no idea about what had happened.  But you and I are different. Of course there's nothing you could have done. You're an Aes Sedai. You have all the power in the world. If you couldn't have done something, then there was nothing that could have been done." She hesitated again at this point. She could see the pain in the other woman that she was trying to hide. After enduring similar paid herself for so many years she could see it in others.  Her arm jerked slightly as if to go around the Aes Sedai's shoulder to comfort her, but she knew it wouldn't be proper and managed to restrain herself.

"But see, if I had known more, been more capable, then I could have saved my brother. That's why I need to learn. Because then when I know enough, then I'll know I can always save those that need me if it's at all possible.  But without that, how can I ever know for sure?  All I can do is feel helpless and alone, like I have for the past 10 years."

Dre dropped her head again and stared down at her hands folded in her lap. Tears began to fall as she told the one part she'd not told anyone else, not even her mother. "At my brother's funeral, his Promised blamed me. She was so upset. She was dressed in her mourning gown, with a veil like a widow though they'd never spoken the marriage vows. She said that if it hadn't been for me, he wouldn't have died. And I realized she was right.  I know that at only six I couldn't have actually protected him with that knife I was carrying. But if I had stayed with my mother, he might not have been distracted. It was my fault, because I was too stupid and careless. That's why I need to know more, because it's not in me to hide. But if I don't learn what to do, I'll just cause more harm then good."

  5. Doing teams that are linked with Ajahs, ESPECIALLY for those looking to become Warders, would be a great way to encourage inter-division RPs, and make it easier to find WT characters to RP with for those WY and WT advancement reqs that require such interaction. It would take good cooperation between both Divs though. But I can see where some AS and Warders took some Accepted and Trainees out on a camping trip or some such.

  6. All this people leaving on vacation, and yet I don't remember giving any of you permission to leave.

    *checks schedule*

Nope, nope, I've got you down here to be working all those days. You're just going to have to tell your family you're sorry. If you have any questions you can take it up with Human Resources.

  7. A cooperative RP between the WT and the WY, going to investigate the BT, might be interesting. Not that I'd be able to participat in either. :(  Just hopefully the trip wouldn't end up the way it did in the books. :)

  8. *thinks wistfully*

Err...  I can be wistful here right?  My character here is a girl, and girls can be wistful, right?

    *thinks wistfully*

What does here mean?  Where is here?  Who among us is really here in the first place?

  9. OOC: I did, and replied. I've been at work all day though, and it's been busy, so it took me a while to respond.

    IC:

Kopair stared at Thera for a few moments, trying to gather his thoughts. His story for why he came to the Yard in the first place was known known only to a few, and his reasoning for why he wanted to stay would probably only be obvious to Liitha, and Aran who had taught him of the Spring so had helped Kopair with dealing with the issues. To put those reasons into words that made sense to others was always difficult.

"Why?" he finally replied. "It has nothing to do with learning the sword, or at least, not in whole. My father died, and my family were taken from me. Nobody was there to protect them, and I know now that even if I had been there I'd have more likely died with my father then have been of any help. But the Aes Sedai, and those at the White Tower as a whole, are sworn to serve the Light, fight the Shadow, and protect the world from evil. If there were more people like that around in the world, then perhaps the bandits that attacked my home never would have existed, or if they had, there might have been those around that could hunt them down and return my family."

"How many others?" he asked, his voice growing angry slightly. "How many lives destroyed because the forces for good in this world are outnumbered and spread too thin? To be a Warder...  To be able to be out there, helping to make sure that the fight against the Shadow is continued...  I know how important that is. And I know now that the way I handled things was wrong. I should have gone to Liitha and told her what happened. Perhaps she and others could have helped me, instead of me just running off on my own. That's a mistake I never intend to make again."

  10. Dre walked along beside the Estel, trying to take in everything she was saying. However her mind kept wandering to the thought of food. She felt like it'd been weeks since she had eaten properly, and days since she'd had any food at all. Despite her distraction, some of the things Estel was saying did manage to sink in. Things that Melina hadn't gotten around to telling her about. Not allowed around the Warder trainees? Not allowed to socialize with boys? She could handle that. She hated thinking about any boy looking at her face. The mere thought of it made her hide her face again. She didn't like the thought that she could be trapped inside the grounds of the Tower for the next 10 years. At least the Accepted were allowed into the City at times.  It was going to be rough, but it would be worth it.

Finally the two of them arrived at the dining hall and Estel escorted her into the kitchen, where a large woman named Laras who seemed to be in charge gave Dre an assortment of cold cuts. Her mouth was watering as she followed Estel out into the grounds and sat with her. She fell to eating immediately as they sat, and it took her a moment to register the question she'd been asked.

“How did you end up here, An’drea?”

Dre swallowed her food and stared up at the Aes Sedai, trying to compose her thoughts. "Please, call me Dre," she started. "If you want us to be informal when we are alone, then please call me what my friends called me back home. As for why I came, it's because of something that happened in my childhood. Like I told the Mistress of Novices, my brother was killed 10 years ago, all because I was too clumsy and stupid to help him. Because of me, he ended up dead, and I ended up..." and she trailed off, absently touching the scar down her face. "I got what I deserved. My mother always taught me that men needed women to protect them in this life, and I need to make sure I never fail in that again."

  11. An'drea jumped to her feet as Melina scurried from the room, regretting her absence. The girl had been a comfort. The first truly friendly person she'd felt comfortable with since arriving. She couldn't help but stare at the Aes Sedai. She was tall, far taller then Dre had imagined, and she was beautiful in a close fitting dress that made Dre blush to see. She couldn't help but feel ugly next to this woman, and immediately dropped her head to let her hair hide her scar.

"Hello Estel Sedai," she said, with a clumsy attempt at a curtsey as Melina had told her was appropriate. "Thank you for the welcome. Darienna Sedai said you would help me settle in here and help me get started. Please, I want to get started. It's all so... strange and exciting here. But I know I can't do what I need to do it I don't learn."
