  1. Dre nodded and stifled her tears, handing back the handkerchief to Estel.  Looking up again it was clear her eyes were still troubled, but for some other unspoken reason this time. Dre shook her head slightly but then said nothing about what was going through her mind.  Instead she spoke once more in the same soft and unsure tone she'd used when they first met.

"I understand Estel, and I apologize for disappointing you. But I promise I will work harder. What do I do next?"

  2. Kopair entered on the heels of Veria as they walked into the Glory. In the back of his mind he noted the corner of the large common room where he and Veria had once shared an evening together back when they were both still in training. He couldn't help but grin at how they'd almost been caught sneaking back in after curfew.  He noticed as some of the guests of the party that weren't from the Tower frowned at his sword strapped at his side. However those of the Guard who frowned at first whiped the look off their face when they saw the fancloth cloak swirling about Kopair. They knew that it was the Gaidin's right to bare arms even in the Amyrlin's presence.

He escorted Veria farther into the common room and smiled again as he saw she was leading them toward that same table he'd been thinking of himself.  He signaled so a passing waiter to bring them two glasses of wine and then joined Veria at the table. No sooner had they settled themselves when the Amyrlin and her escort entered. He studied the Guard accompanying the group and frowned slightly as one of the younger ones actually acted as if he was going to say something about Kopair being armed before thinking better of it.  Maybe some of the things Shoar mumbled about lack of respect for Gaidin was true.

"So, Veria, it seems the Amyrlin has found herself a dance partnet." Getting to his feet he held his hand out to her. "It's been much too long since I was able to dance with you. Will you do me the honor?"

  3. Kopair stood in the crowd, his back to the tower, and his hand resting on his sword hilt. He hated being apart from Veria in a crowd like this, but it was her command and she was his Bonded.  She was standing inside the ring with the other Aes Sedai on the Brown, and she had sent him to help the Tower Guard watch the crowd.  He nodded in a friendly way to a few of them he knew from his days in training. It was pointless for him to be over here "helping." The Guard knew what they were doing.

The ceremony began behind him and he risked a glance back as something unexpected made the mass of people grow silent. His eyes widened for a moment as he saw the new Amyrlin towering above the gathering, adn then turned back to the crowd. The whole situation felt too open and he didn't like it. Anyone might manage to slip through the Guard and manage to plant a knife in Veria before he could stop them. Giving a salute to a Lieutenant nearby he moved through the drowd until he stood behind Veria. Her attention was fixed on the Amyrlin and he knew he'd moved too silently for her to have heard him approach. Especially with the noise of the Amyrlin's speech.

Leaning forward he whispered qiuetly into Veria's ear, seeing if he could startle her. "Stand united and live, stand alone and die?  Sounds like we may have ourselves an Amyrlin who knows what she's about."

  4. Well I'm looking to add a third character to my roster, and it looks like y'all could use another active person over here. :)  I submitted my bip Friday night, an archer, and hope to hear on it soon.  So who all is active around here? :)

  5. Well as to point 3, I'd like to make a suggestion if I could. :)

Much as there used to be a section for AoL RPs, I think it'd be cool if a new section was made for people to make new cahracters and start the main story all over. And then have the current boards continue with the current characters on into our own version of the future.

    Just my two cents. :D

  6. Dre jumped to her feet and turned away from Estel as she felt the tears falling once more.  Why could nobody understand?!

"Estel Sedai, please..." she said softly, a tremble in her voice that made her trail off. "You're not understanding what I'm trying to say. I guess that's just the way it will have to be." Scrubbing the tears from her face she turned to look again at Estel. "Please, I don't understand how it is I've managed to anger you, but I guess my not understanding isn't anything new."

Once again Dre moved to take her seat beneath the tree and calmly folded her hands. She stared at her fingers for a moment as if to compose her thoughts.

"Obviously I'm already failing here in the Tower. I've not even been here a full day yet and I've already got you mad at me and I don't understand how. I don't think I have what it takes to be here.  Maybe I should just leave. but aside from that, I just want to apologize for whatever it is I've done to offend you. Please forgiveme Aes Sedai."

  7. Hi all.

I've had some questions about timeline that have been buzzing around in my head today that I never really had reason to ask before.

    1) What year is it currently in the main RP timeline?

    2) If two characters become involved, say a Warder and Aes Sedai relationship for example, and they are actually in different timelines when they first bond, can that be overlooked under the "don't ask, don't tell, never mention it again or you'll destroy space-time" clause?

    3) Once the main RP timeline gets to the point where the Last Battle has been fought and it's all done, what happens next? Have there been any thoughts on that yet?  Will the Wheel be reset but everyone still be able to keep their characters at the same rank? Or will we go on into the future with our own interpretation of what will happen?

  8. Kopair almost felt himself tremble slightly as Veria touched his face so gently as she wiped his tears. Normally he knew he would have felt ashamed to show such emotion to anyone, especially a woman, but somehow he felt that with Veria it was different. He knew he was safe with her.

“Be strong..You are a wonderful trainee. I have seen you train over the week we have been apart and know your skill with the blade. You will make a future sister proud.”

He stared at her for a moment, and then couldn't help but smile softly. He hesitated slightly with shock as a glass of whine floated up to him, then took it with a small chuckle.

"A future sister?" he asked.  He stared at Veria's banded dress for a moment, and then looked back into her eyes. "Yes, I think you're right.  I hope that I will make a future sister proud.  Would you have any ideas on that subject?" he asked with a grin.

Downing his wine in one gulp to hide his laugh, he grabbed an olive from his plate and tossed it up to catch in his mouth.

"So," he said again finally. "I've shared my story with you. Though a part of me warned me against it, I felt it was important, and I know I can trust you. Though I know not why I feel this way.  And so, though I've told you much about me, I would like to know more about you. I know you are beautiful. I know there is a bit of the brat inside of you, much like my sister. I know that you're tougher then you think you are, and you know how to get a man's attention.  But that's not enough for me. I need you...  I mean, I need to know more about you. What's your story, and what makes you who you are?  I want to know everything."

OOC: Feel free to tell Kopair as much or as little as you think Veria would want him to know. But Kopair is very fascinated with her so wants to know as much as he can. :)

  9. Dre was too upset to reply in words, so she simply curtsied and rushed out of the room.  Soon she was back at the scene of her disaster and staring at the pile of books.

"Repair the damaged ones?" she asked of herself. "How am I supposed to do that?"

With a sigh she slowly began taking the books up the ladder one at a time to restack them, having to go very carefully as she had to climb one-handed with nobody holding the ladder for her. Finally after nearly 20 minutes she got all the undamaged books up, and was left with three books, each of which seemed to have lost a couple of pages each.  Sitting down with the books and loose pages she slowly worked through each of them until she was able to figure out where they all went.

At this point though, she was stumped. How was she supposed to attach the pages?  She was no book binder, and had never even scene it done. She'd heard once that sometimes they actually sewed the pages together, but even so Dre had never been good at sewing.  She tried just placing the pages in their correct places and shutting the book, but no matter how carefully she shut it the pages still poked out a little, making it obvious they were loose.

She sighed again in frustration as she thought on the problem. She felt sure that if she was far enough along she be able to use the Power to do this, but that was far beyond her. Finally she could think of no alternative. If she got in even more trouble, so be it. At least she knew she was trying her best.  Carefully gathering up the three books and their loose pages, she went back to where the Accepted was working.

"Excuse me Accepted," she said quietly, trying not to show her fear. This was all so unfair! "I put all the books back that I could. But these three lost pages." She laid the three books out on the desk, and explained which pages went to which book, and where. "I would fix them, but I don't know how, and decided it would be better to face further punishement and be honest then try and fix them without knowing how and maybe make things worse."

She stepped back and folded her hands behind her desk, waiting calmly for the Accepted to reply. Dre had come to the point where she was so scared and upset at the feeling that she'd come out on the other side into an uneasy calm.
