I'm thankful for...

My family.

Being still employed. I've survived twelve layoffs in the last ten years.

Being in my right mind. (I hope. You'd let me know if I wasn't, right?)

Being born late enough to enjoy indoor plumbing, fast transportation, and the internet.

My friends, old and new.

Oh, you had me at "buttery kind of bread."

My son is not a fan of turkey, the traditional American main course at Thanksgiving, so we have a honey-baked ham.

We have green beans wrapped in bacon.

Plus, for my own nostalgia's sake, we have cranberry dressing that comes in the shape of the can. (My mother wasn't an enthusiastic cook, so that was what I grew up with.)

My wife also makes a Bourbon Chocolate-Chip Pecan pie.

Now I'm all hungry.
