  1. The Seeker didn't smile as they left, but he waited until all had left the room completely before doing anything.   Caidin walked, centering himself in the room.  The women watched him warily.  Caidin never understood that.  He was a Seeker of Truth.  If they weren't guilty, there was nothing to fear from him. Caidin hiimself had no ulterior motive here.  He was her to perform his duties to the Empress, may she live forever.

As always he addressed the High Lady directly.  "High Lady Retamin," he said, with a bowed head. "You have my sincerest condolences on the loss of your sister and her so'jhin. The Empress, may she live forever, also expresses her condolences."

Caidin lifted his head and met the eyes of the High Lady. "Unfortunately, my visit may open more wounds.  The circumstances around her death are...questionable.  I am hear to investigate." Caiden showed sympathy on his face, where in reality, he didn't care whether or not his visit hurt her feelings.

"I trust that you'll do your best to aid my investigation.  After all, I seek nothing more than the truth and the justice that comes with it."

  2. Caidin watched as the damane chastised the da'covale for her lack of response.  The woman moved gracefully and sensually.  A hint of a smile touched the Seeker's lips.  She was beautiful and exotic.  Perhaps he would have more uses for the Sea Folk woman.

The dance was halted when the High Lady entered with her son and the local Lord. Caidin withheld a cringe from that.  He'd rather not have to deal with the local "Lord."  He did however, stand as the woman entered the hall and gave her a nod of respect as the so'jhin spoke.

Caidin could feel the High Lady's eyes on him and he met her gaze.  He had no fear of her and likely she knew it.

"My journey went very well, High Lady," Caidin spoke, once again, giving a nod of his head. "And I thank you for your hospitable welcome."  Even though she would be a fool to refuse him, it would be better for him to have the High Lady on his side. "The entertainment has been...more than adequate." His eyes moved briefly to the Sea Folk woman, and then turned back to the High Lady.

"Duty, however, calls me here.  Are these...cleared?" Caidin worried little about the Seanchan, but he'd rather not have the local lord with his grotesque mustache in the room.

  3. "Wolfie Kronos

Lived in the woods and raised by woods after being stolen from his cradle. Found by a Aes Sedai and brought to the Tower. Wants to be a Warder."

    There ya go!

Kill'd him a bear when he was only three.

  4. Bio looks fine. My only questions are more about how the training will work and ensuring they understand that its all happening in main timeline.

So AS is it full age, and their relationship is just beginning. If AS does any retro playing (teaching novices etc) she will be expected not to have warder.

Just be prepared to wait out the training time and go forward :)

If all of that is understood, consider this CC' d

All is understood on Kira's side.

  5. Caidin followed as the der'sul'dam led him to a different room.  The frustration eased a bit.  It would be bows and scrapes from here on out, so he could get to the matter at hand quickly. There were two men in the room.  One the son of the High Lady, the other a native Lord.  The mustache on his face looked ridiculous, and Caidin could only agree with the Seanchan that it should be removed. Caidin didn't kneel as the der'sul'dam and the damane did.  He bowed to no one but the Empress, May She Live Forever.

The der'sul'dam quickly got to the point and excused the two to go get the High Lady.  The look of surprise on the Seanchan's face almost brought a smirk to Caidin's mouth.  Thankfully he took the local man too.  Caidin had no interest in dealing with the foreigners. A da'covale approached him with a tray.  Caidin waved took only a glass of water.  He didn't drink alcohol much, and he never did when he was on official business.

The da'covale was well trained.  She didn't look at Caidin, whether that was because of fear or because she just knew better, he didn't know, but it meant she knew her place.  Most outside of the Seanchan Empire didn't know that much.  Caidin walked around the room, examining it with his dark eyes.

The der'sul'dam sought to fill the silence.  Silence didn't bother the Seeker, but he knew most felt uncomfortable with it.  He turned to face the woman as she spoke, his face betraying no emotions. She gestured towards the da'covale who hadn't moved.

Good, he thought. She wasn't dismissed so she didn't leave.

Of course, Caidin himself was da'covale.  All seekers were, but he had a different station.

"Stand," he told the Sea Folk woman.

She obeyed, but kept her eyes down.  She was well trained indeed.  Caidin approached and picked up one of her hands, examining the tattoos.  They were well done, and Caidin found himself impressed with the artistry. Dropping her hand, he turned and took a seat.  His posture showed that he would be ready to rise at a moments notice.  Seekers could sometimes be paranoid.

"Dance," he said, curious as to what he would see.

    ****

OOC: I hope my modding of the Sea Folk didn't step on your toes at all.  I figured I'd let you write that part though.

  6. Tannyr needed time to cope.  Time is something that Karoan could give.  As long as the young tinker didn't leave, Karoan would give him some space. There was much to cope with and Tannyr's whole life had changed.  He had been abandoned.  Karoan could understand somewhat.  He had everything taken from him.  His life wasn't an easy one, but he had learned and grown.  Karoan was sure that Tannyr would do the same.

The pup came back, and Karoan let him talk.  Tannyr needed to process and sometimes talking helped that. He had questions, and Karoan would provide them the best he could.  "We will be heading to a stedding.  That is where we stay, and it is where you will stay until it's deemed you can leave safely.  It will take awhile to get there, we take care to not be followed.  There are those that...are...well...nervous around our time. Also - you're not turning into a wolf. Wolf-like characteristics and abilities, yes. But you are a man - always remember that."

Karoan paused.  His own story wasn't a happy one either. "I was thought to be a darkfriend by those in my village.  It escalated.  Dragon fang on the door, and then eventually a fire.  Many of us have similar stories.  We lost everything."

  7. Hey Kyn, good to see you. Welcome back.   We have a recent member, LadyGreyfist, who was planning to do a Warder bio with a view to bonding Kronos' Aes Sedai. I don't know how much further that plan has gone. Apart from that, Elessar is active and currently RPing with Chae's Aes Sedai. Think that's about it.

Waiting for bio approval I think.  I'm pretty sure she sent it in.

  8. As a creative person (I perform, study and compose music) I can't imagine being put in the situation Sanderson was put in.  He was asked to finish someones master work.  Not only that, but it was someone who he respected and was part of the reason why he became a writer.  That is a scary place to be in.

I think Sanderson ended the series well.  It wasn't the same style as Jordan, but I think expecting that isn't necessarily great.  Sanderson had his own style and was chosen for that reason.  He finished it the best he could and overall, I thought he did it well.

@kinswoman - I think the last chapter was actually written by Jordan

  9. I think the fear of the battle with aginor was the fear of failure, failing and letting the forsaken free to harm others (I don't remember that scene well though).

The fear of the two rivers going to hell was, I thought, a nod to sam's vision in galadriel's mirror and also the scouring of the shire, but the fear I got from this scene was that by abandoning the two rivers, which she felt responsible for as the wisdom, she would cause harm to come to her loved ones and her home and she would fail in that first and dearest responsibility. She wasn't so egotistical as to fear that her people would do well without her guidance and protection. No matter how much anyone dislikes the character, I don't think RJs feelings and intentions for her can be misread. As opposed to egwene, who immediately wanted to leave home and take on the world, and who didn't think much about what she left behind or what might happen to it, and who accepted her role as one responsible for the greater good of the tower and the world, nynaeve only left the two rivers to watch over egwene and the boys, to protect her own loved ones. She is a mother figure here, and her fear is in failing in that role, failing to protect. Fearing the consequences of abandoning those who rely on her.

In the scenario with Lan, her fear is not fear of having a life with him, without other responsibilities. It's a fear of leaving him, of failing in the responsibility of that love, failing the family they could have together. The pain of that vision wasn't being with him, it was having to leave him to return to the tower and fulfill her role as aes sedai, and not indulge her own wants and needs at the expense of the greater responsibility she has to humanity. That's why she leaves sobbing. But she does leave. She makes the hard choices and she does willingly put everything else behind her to become an AS.

    Imo anyway.

So much this.  It's more abstract than what you see.

  10. Her hot temper is significantly cooled now lol. She was taught the hard way. That might work. I don't think him getting injured would work. She wouldn't bond him without his consent. I'm hoping that you can become a warder without having to train in the warders yard, but I'm not sure on the rules there.

He looks good btw. Also he'll have to talk with the Illian accent - if I see no "do bes" I'll be disappointed lol
