  2. Arcon seemed to really take to this weave. And the mask once her used it in small amounts. It was always more difficult the more you had to change. Tigara went down his metal checklist and came to the bottom. The fun one. He took a little bit of everything and a lot of Spirit and wove it delicately into the Murandian. He started to squirm, then you could hear delicate "ow"s coming from him. He let the weave dissipate. "That, Arcon, is an interrogators favorite weapon. The weave is simply called pain. The stronger you weave, the more pain you will cause them. Weave too hard, and they will die." He wove it again but with much thicker threads and sent it hard into the man. The shock made him stiffen up like a board and his scream could wake the dead. Perfect. It dissipated and the man slumped, panting heavily.

"Give it a try. Just don't kill him. We may need him later." he said with a sinister grin.

  3. The girl couldn't possibly have bled that much from a wound like that! It was all over her hem! She was only bleeding from her head! The girl was sabotaging her! And what a melodramatic buffoon! She staggered on the way up from her curtsey. She did not hit her that hard. She was fairly certain she knew her own strength. And since when did Deanne curtsy that deeply on any occasion. She glared at the novice as she gave her version of the story. It was time for another eruption!

"You little lying beast! You weren't learning at all because you had your eyes glued to some male hunk of meat! And I did not even touch your hair! Who would want to touch your hair! It's only good for a rat's nest anyways! And no, you weren't trying at all! You didn't want to learn a thing. I aught to hit you again, you feather-brained wench!"

She aggressively approached Deanne with her fists ready when she was blocked by a wall of Air. She turned her head in surprise to look at Larindhra, who did not look pleased at all.

  4. Terra nearly flinched in expectation of being hit. Had she said something she shouldn't have when she was living with her mistress, she would have been beaten. But Arcon changed his expressions so quickly that she wasn't sure what was going on. He put his arm over her should er and led her away, leaving his companions with the impression that they were going off to have some "fun". "One thing Terra, learn to ask me to teach you in private. Those fools are useful yes, even loyal, but I don't want them to know every ace I've got, do you understand?" She nodded. Obviously, she had no experience in this game whatsoever.

Once in his quarters, she took a seat on a chair as he sat down on another. His first point came across as...different. She had never thought of not trusting anyone before. She never had to. She trusted her mistress and whoever she trusted, Terra followed suit. She would definitely need to develop a "suspicious eye". The second point was easier to handle. She never expected it to be easy. That was a given with almost everything.

His question to her was rather intense. She took a quick moment to collect her answer, then answered with as much confidence. "Arcon, I once read in a book that in the Age of Legends, the best things were made by the combined efforts of men and women. We both serve the same Master, we're both fighting for the same side, and if we work together, we can achieve more than we could alone. I have no reason to turn on you."

  5. Better than she had heard? What were the rumors saying? If Deanne was spreading awful things about her, Jas was going to shave her head, submissive or not! At least she had the sense to give her name now. Jagen. A nice name for a Taraboner. She starred in awe at the thickness of the Water threads Jagen was weaving! She couldn't make them that big! But, when Aes Sedai say jump....

She took the thread of air, which was very easy for her, and then tried to weave the Water threads. She wove them the way they were supposed to be, but they were more like yard sized. She frowned at her work as it dissipated. No, don't make eye contact with the teacher. Try again. She wove two more water threads which were...very fractionally bigger. This time she grimaced. She knew she couldn't make them that big. She didn't even know why she was trying. Let's try once more. Air thread like so then the two water threads, She was amazed! They were pinky sized! Her moment of triumph was disturbed by a dizzy feeling and a sudden splitting headache. "Ohhhhh, my head..." she moaned as she staggered a bit and supported her temples with her palms.

  6. Ikki had been hanging around the Infirmary getting private lessons. Healing interested him. Especially since he had started to ponder over Healing the affects of the Taint. He hadn't been able to tell if it was a plausible idea or not. No one here was able to tell whether it was possible. The channelers here weren't very experienced though, so they wouldn't know anyways. The Aes Sedai might know, but they gentle men too fast for studying that. He would have to study this himself.

The door to the infirmary flew open and two Asha'man came in carrying another Asha'man on an Air stretcher. One of the Asha'man turned his head to Ikki and the other Dedicated in the Infirmary. "Gather in the training grounds and be ready for battle." Ikki nodded and hurried off to his rooms to get his sword. He had never killed a man before, so this would certainly be a new experience. He wasn't very sure that his stomach would handle killing anyone.

The grounds were already crowding as he got there. He didn't bother looking where he was or where anyone he knew was. He was too busy calming his gittering nerves and making sure he kept breakfast down. Maybe I'll just stay in the back and not kill anything. Yes, good idea....

  7. A Courtesan? Not likely. A woman of many faces? Definitely. "Oh of course I've been working in the Power. I have to learn the Mask of Mirrors, after all." She dearly looked forward to that day. She could look however she liked with ease and go anywhere! She loved the feeling of...surprising someone.

"Arcon, I was wondering something. Would you be able to teach me The Game?" she emphasized "The Game" and Arcon immediately looked as if he knew exactly what she wanted. If she was to hide among the world, it would be a most useful tool. And Arcon being a Cairheinin noble, what better teacher?

  8. She nodded at the young Red and embraced the Source. She hadn't even given her name! Somewhat rude, but it didn't matter all too much. She began to recall all she cold do with water, which wasn't a lot. Any weave she knew that used water, she began to do while naming them in a monotonous tone. "Create water..." as a small trickle came out of nowhere. "Dry..." she wove that onto where the trickle landed and it started to make an area of dry stone. "Freeze..." this one she directed at the pond and it started to freeze over. A very thin coating, but it was there. "Heal fatigue..." this one she aimed in no particular direction and let it dissipate. She didn't dare channel at the Aes Sedai without her saying to. "Healing..." She wove in the smallest amounts possible and let it dissipate as well. "Keeping..." she wove that onto a nearby rosebush. It was tended by Aes Sedai already, but she might as well keep it healthy. "And winds..." she wove and a strong breeze came past her. To her disappointment, her hair did not flow in the breeze. She loved that feeling. It would be a while before she could feel that again. "That's all I can do successfully, Aes Sedai."

  9. Tigara smiled at the girl's attempt to hide her surprise. It looked like quite a struggle to keep her jaw in place. He released the Source and it felt as if life itself had been denied him.  Yet, it always felt that way.

"Well, to be blunt, it will take you years to reach my level. Not as long as those witches take, but it will be around ten years. It's not an easy thing to master, no." He grimaced at his slip of accent. He thought he had been ridden of that! Oh well. "But it's time for you to get some sleep. You're lessons will begin tomorrow and tardiness is not tolerated here...at all."

    OOC: Done now!

  10. Terra examined her handiwork in the small mirror she had in her room. A dark purple lipstick, black eyeshadow, chocolate blush, strongly brushed hair. She was indeed getting better at this. She found that darker colors worked much better with her Tairen skin and that blush was best for covering blemishes, not for adding color. She didn't know what to do about that lump, however. It apparently wasn't Healable unless it was broke first, but her limp had been Healed. That was a definite improvement.

She wandered over to the Mess Hall for the evening meal, even if her purposes were to show off her look. Upon entering, she spied Arcon and his little band of buddies. Arcon had become elusive the past month or so, so she wasn't letting him get away so easy this time. She strutted over to his table and promptly sat down across the table from him. "So, what do you think?" she said gesturing to her face. You've been missed the last while. What were you up to?"

    Terra Cyrene

    Sorta pretty now

  11. Arcon seemed to be well practiced with the voice, but he didn't do so well with the Mask. He had long golden hair, big blue eyes, big lips, and a dress, but the rest of him was unchanged. It looked as if he had put on make-up, a wig and a dress, not a proper Mask. "Umm, you'll definitely have to practice that one. But let's move on. Now we get the fun stuff. He turned to face the portly man who suddenly looked very afraid. Tig grinned and wove a delicate weave of Spirit into the man's head. His eyes fluttered and then closed, then his head drooped over. "That, dear Adept, is how to put someone to sleep. The things to remember are to be delicate, and always aim for the brain. That's where his sleep nerves are." A whip of air formed and hit the man square in the nose. He awoke yelling in pain. It was simply delightful. "You try!"

  12. Terra smiled as Arcon talked. He didn't order her around, he didn't make fun of her ugly face or her awkward limp or the lump on her forehead. He was...nice. She never met anyone nice before. Yes, it would give her something to occupy her free time. She could have several identities. "Yes, I think this book will do exactly what you say. And I'm sure the Dreadladies have some extra they could give me, or at least have a way to get it to me." This was going to be very good for her.

remember who helped you out on that first day.

That phrase rung in her head. Yes, she was going to remember. She would never forget Arcon. She started to delve into her book and Arcon went back to his. No one said anything, but it was...good.

    Terra Cyrene

  13. Tig nodded as Arcon wove the Dream ward and the Illusion. He was a fast learner, for he knew enough o alter the illusion and add a sound using another weave. This may be easier than expected. "I see you added your own sound to that." He wove Air and Fire with Spirit and then spoke again, except this time with a seductive woman's voice. "But can you use it for something like this." He altered the weave just a bit. It was now a very low-demonic voice. "Or this!" He altered it once again. "Or even this." The last one had come out as an exact copy of Arcon's voice. He giggled inside as he watched the Adept's expressions change.

"The weave to alter your voice is very useful in combination with this." He wove a more complex version of the previous weave with less Air and Fire, and suddenly he appeared to be a Sea Folk Cargomaster, tattoos and piercings and all! "The Mask of Mirrors is the most valuable weave to know when performing espionage in familiar territory. Give these two a try."

  14. Terra's eyes nearly popped out of her slightly deformed head. That was a big book. A very big book. All on beauty and make-up and girly things. Arcon handed it to her with both hands and she had to grunt to carry it. It was amazingly heavy for being paper! She set it on the wooden table and sat down like a sack of potatoes. "Well, as I'm sure you've noticed, I'm not a very pretty girl. In fact, I'm rather ugly, so the other girls tell me. I'm hoping I can use make-up to cover up some of my more obvious blemishes since I don't know how to use this...Mirror of Mists or whatever it's called. I really don't like drawing attention to myself."

She flipped open the book and read half a page and then her head perked up. "Where am I even supposed to get make-up?"

  15. Ikki shivered as Sereth described going mad from the Taint on saidin. He had wondered wheather such mental illnesses could be Healed, or whether they were just doomed short of turning to the Shadow. Well, he thought they didn't if they did. It was mostly rumors he heard. Maybe running was a good thing....?

He observed the tea mixture being made in front of his eyes. It was a good trick. Maybe even a familiar trick. "Who was your teacher?"

Before the Asha'man could answer, Helina sat down and gave him the drink the innkeeper had brought her. "Umm, thank you ma'am. Who is your friend with the harp?" he asked motioning to Kami.

  16. What a puzzling man. "That's the problem. I don't know what I enjoy. I was never given such options." She thought about what might be useful to know. Since arriving, she had become increasingly aware of her far less than average appearance and it was getting to her. The other girls made fun of her and tripped her all the time. She heard that you could change your appearance with the One Power, but that was above her at this time. Maybe she should learn to apply make-up and wear pretty dresses. "Are there any books about make-up?" she asked. She was embarrassed to ask, for she had before been discouraged from gaining interest in the more feminine aspects. "Oh, my name is Terra. It's nice to meet you."

  17. Well, the boy was well-mannered, he had to give him that. But now was not the time for such things. This boy showed promise and he was going to train him to the fullest. Well...almost fullest. He couldn't teach him everything.

"Alright Arcon, embrace the Source and watch closely. We're going to start simple." Tig took ahold of a large amount of Spirit and wove it in a complete fashion. It seemed to dissiapte as he wove and it went in no direction in particular. He watched Arcon look at him with a puzzled expression. "That was a dream ward, it'll keep dreamwalkers from spying on or entering your dreams." He had started doing that lately. It was a horrible experience to have someone pop into your dreams. Especially when you knew it was happening.

He next took large amounts of Spirit, Air, and water along with traces of Fire and wove it into the floor. Suddenly a lampstand was in the middle of the floor. The fat man looked at it with wide eyes and Arcon looked interested. "That is a simple illusion. It can be altered slightly to make almost anything and you can even cover an existing object with it. Give them a try."

OOC: Try both weaves and then we'll move on.

  18. I hate free time. Terra shuffled down the hallways looking completely lost. She never before had "free time" as it were. She was told to do, then dismissed to sit in a corner if she was done. That was how her mistress had treated her. She wasn't sure how to feel about her. She never had to think for herself before. It was as if she had an entirely new life and everything was different. And she had been here for months already! She sighed as she shuffled. A hobby would be a good idea.

She decided that the library was the best idea. She had found secret pleasure in reading before. Maybe she could find open pleasure in it now. She opened the doors and stared in awe at the vast collection of books. There were so many kinds in so many colors, genres, and sizes. She had no idea what book to start with. She had always been told what to read before. She was startled by someone speaking. An adept appeared to be studying something, but was taking the time to offer her aid. What kind of land was this where random strangers offered you help? Never in any of her two previous lives had she experienced anything like this. It took her a moment to figure out how to reply.

"Ummm, I was just trying to decide what to read. I've never had to make a decision before. What would you recommend?"
