It could be argued that just as she had to convince herself that the pitcher could not be used as a weapon, you could convince yourself that the collar as not a weapon. It does not intrinsically cause physical damage. Once it is applied and she became Renna's Sul'dam, it was a tool. Even according to Seanchan ideology Damane are trained to serve, not "punished". The act of hanging Renna up was physical and not in any way affected by the collar. Renna could have tried to exert control through the collar, but it is conceivable that she was in shock at being affected how she was. She KNEW that she couldn't channel. She KNEW the collar couldn't control her. Her worldview exploded in that moment. Then she panicked and let Egwene go in an effort to save herself. Big mistake, HUGE.

Is that true? Do we know this as a fact? For all we know she has had the ability but chose to hide it. Maybe that led to her drinking problems. Yes this is wild speculation but the fact is we don't know. It seems to be a constant in the books that wisdoms, wise women, etc.. generally are women that have some latent ability channel, and use that subliminally to do their jobs. Also a reason why they say wisdoms rarely marry as they would live longer than most. People might not think about the.wisdom that's "been here forever" but if she outlives her children people definitely will sense something is odd. Plus she's just been told her life is on the line. Protection is probably a priority.

I think they omitted the fades to allow Fain to be in direct control of the trollocs which allowed them to execute some actual tactics. Fades basically just drove the trollocs into a frenzy and sent them off in a direction, mostly out of fear of the fades. They would have attacked the whitecloaks and had much more difficulty getting into the closed gates of EF.

I was of the impression that the BA did swear the AS Oaths but then had them removed and swore different ones on the Oath Rod. So it might have only been for an afternoon, lol.

I really liked this episode. I must be a softy or easy to please or something. There were a few issues I had but the highs were much better. RIP Brother Book ( if he's dead). The issue I had with this was it seemed there was an explosion at the waygate, so how did Bain and Chiad survive? Maxsim looked terrible with the bow. I don't know if that was intended or not though. Faile was awesome. The actress is doing great and I like her in the show earlier than from the books. Happy that Valda was appropriately burned to death. Karma baby. Mat better sit up straight around his sisters, lol. I kinda hope we get a "we come" moment to break Perrin out. Need more wolfs.
