  1. Unfortunately it's a common trend in the last few years for shows to have shorter seasons and longer waits. Covid didnt help 😞 I think Vox did an article on it at some point. The expectation of quality for shows has gone wayy up. Shows are trying to be more ambitious with their content and quality to keep watchers interested. I do appreciate all the attention to detail, I found some scenes in the show truly breathtaking last season and I would love to paint some of them. I'm curious if inflation plays a part at all in this trend. Everything is more expensive now. Tech, set and clothing design, peoples wages. Either way I really miss shows that have almost a dozen seasons and maybe 12-20 episodes each season.
  2. A belated welcome JayceDa! Hope to see you around the forums and community orgs 🙂 Tar Valon and the Show thread are pretty active this month! This has been my process with the show as well. There were many moments I expected to see that felt so special when I read them, it was a shame not to see them come to life. But so much already has, and I'm grateful for this rendition. I guess it gives us something to look forwaed to when we re-read!
  3. For me it was surprising to see it so soon in the show. It's been quite a while since I read the books but I recall as a teen enjoying the fact that you got to see these young people grow up through the series. They started out as country bumpkins that were still learning to flirt and that developed along the way; although RJ did like to throw relationships at the readers suddenly so the show has captured that. I personally liked how RJ tended to go for a "fade to black" approach to those scenes. But I can see your point on how this is making it sex positive, or even sex neutral
  4. I loved reading about his process. I never considered printing a guide drawing onto paper that can later handle paint.
  5. Belated welcome, Michaelcarlos! Happy to have another fan here. The show adaptation is pretty heavily discussed throughout the site, there's even a dedicated space for each episode. I think they even had an early launch party for the first episode! The social groups are fun too, you get to see people's creative side as they make and share costume ideas and fan art, have WOT themed activities, all that jazz.
  6. Welcome to DM, Searcher! I'm a longtime fan and I still have trouble keeping the character straight. I was even thinking of making a chart of to help me keep track next time I give a reas through. 😅
  7. Welcome to DM, Tephulis! Glad to have another fan in the forums while we all wait for the next season. 😁 You've reminded me I should give a proper listen to the audio books, it makes the series much easier to get through.
  8. Welcome, Stormy! When it comes to the WoT there is no shortage of material to discuss, that's for sure. Hope you are enjoying what the forums have to offer. 😊
  9. Welcome back! We may have crossed paths all those years ago 🙂 Wild to think how long these books stay with us.
  10. Welcome! Glad you finally got a chance to start, you're set for a while haha. Though most people tend to take a break part-way through.
  11. Welcome back! Audiobooks are amazing for a busy lifestyle, I use them as well. Sometimes I even just listen to summaries of each book on YouTube, it's nice to hear each persons take on it.
