  1. "Nearly a year after Prime Video canceled its live-action Wheel of Time series, Variety has reported that Arcane's Thomas Vu and iwot Studios will be adapting the novels anew. Currently, an animated Wheel of Time series, a new video game, and animated feature films are in development." As seen in a Screen Rant article published here: https://screenrant.com/wheel-of-time-movies-tv-show-video-games-development-thomas-vu/ What are your thoughts so far?
  2. Okay so funny enough, this article just dropped. Seems like an animated series may be in the works. https://screenrant.com/wheel-of-time-movies-tv-show-video-games-development-thomas-vu/
  3. Sad to hear its definitely over. I really enjoyed the 3rd season, it captured the energy of the book I had in mind while reading it; the weaves were very similar to what I imagined, they even made them distinct to each person in S3. That being said, I had to look at it as another spinning of the wheel to get past some alterations. Much like in Hunger Games they changed or cut characters completely. At least there is some new fun fantasy coming our way. πŸ˜• The comics have been really nice to see, I agree that an animated show is a good idea. Maybe in 5-10 years it will be picked up in some form, studios cycle through stories fast these days.
  4. It's been great. To be honest I've been an Accepted for quite some time because I have been on and off the website for years, taking it at my own pace. Thats one thing that worked well with my ADHD, even if I took an extended LOA I was always welcome back to continue my path. πŸ™‚
  5. Hi Prowler! Welcome to DM, I'm Blueberry, an Accepted from the Gray Ajah. I also have ADHD, so I can relate to life being full of fires to put out, as well as the struggle of being a reader with a wandering mind. I hope you get to explore and enjoy the social and discussion groups here! Every month or so theres a themed site-wide event that takes place in the Tar Valon forum, so even if you pop in every once in a while there will be something on the go. πŸ™‚
  6. Updates: β€’ Fans have organized for an airplane to carry a banner across the sky tomorrow afternoon in California in their efforts to #SaveWoT β€’ They're also sending personalized physical letters to a suggested list of recipients from the #SaveWoT website. My favourite so far was a leather mail slip with an entire engraved map of Randland.
  7. I hear where you’re coming from, it’s true that book fans were alienated by the changes, and that might have impacted viewership. But I think it’s important to recognize that adaptations aren’t the same thing as retellings. They’re not just translations. They’re reimaginings that have to function within a completely different medium with its own limitations and strengths. And sometimes becomes a victim of its time. I think GoT and similar higj stskes shows really made the writers feel like they had to match the energy to get viewers. Jordan’s story was sprawling, and paced over thousands of pages. A direct, beat-for-beat version wouldn’t just be impossible logistically. It might honestly not work on screen, not in this era of streaming at least. It’s not Jordan’s exact telling, but this is version that tries to keep the core aspects of the world alive. I get the frustration some book fans feel, some changes were too much for me as well. I felt like season 3 was as close to the way I imagined it when I read it as a teen, though. I really hope we get a Season 4. it feels like the show was just coming into its own. And the show managed get a lot of new people to pick up the books, too.
  8. Thanks Kathy. I've signed and shared the campaign on Tiktok plenty. I'll be sending letters this week as well. πŸ™‚ I think my favourite contribution so far was that one fan who just bought a bilboard of their own accord.
  9. Hi Bodewhin! Welcome to Dragonmount. Theres no shortage of people who love to talk WoT and fantasy here. Your repetoire of fantasy books might make you a good fit to visit the Brown Ajah over in the hall 😁 They have an annual personal book reading challenge going. We just celebrated mental health awareness month in the Tar Valon forum, and next week we'll be dropping pride month activities and discussions too πŸ™‚ It's rough finishing the books, hopefully you can find a thread or two here to fill the void. What games do you play with your nephew? My brother has me playing minecraft, roblox, amd something called crossy road.
  10. Hi Guloo, welcome to DM. I'm Blueberry, an aspie from the Gray Ajah. πŸ™‚ Hope you find your way around the threads and enjoy the discussion groups and social clubs.
  11. That could be worth submitting to the #savewot team. they seem really open to ideas, they usually respond to comments and emails
  12. It's 62k now πŸ™‚ Nice to see how quickly this one is picking up signatures in a few days compared to the renewal campaign. If it doesn't end up working out, at least the fans can say they tried.
  13. Fair enough, I'm still holding onto hope though. There's already 25k signatures in a day, seems it's starting out strong.
  14. Apparently there's a fandom effort to get it shopped around by sony at: https://savewot.com/take-action/
  15. I do love fan creations, dragonmount being one of them. I wouldn't want anything AI, personally. I don't think it's necessarily fair to put a lot of free work on creatives that are fans either. Creatives are already sorely underpaid. Just look at the strikes... Many on the writing and costuming team are fans themselves too. I'd rather see people who are fans get paid to do the work of this epic tale. It's hard having to deal with art under corporations that value income above excellence. I should correct myself: the renewWoT campaign had 155k letters as of cancellation after a month of collecting. As of the cancellation it went from 155k to 180k in the span of 3ish days, while people still spammed amazon as they waited for the #SaveWot campaign.
  16. I was wondering about this earlier myself. I wouldn't be surprised that if someone did pick it up, they drop Rafe as showrunner, given how many book fans are unhappy with him. But maybe they'd keep other writers, since season 3 was recieved well by those who were watching. Plus they'd know the ins and outs of the story, compared to a new team One of the receivers of the #saveWoT campaign letters is Sony, and they've been blasted the last 3 days between the two campaigns since cancellation. Hopefully all this attention leads to more info coming out from them.
  17. That's a good point, they do occasionally release a statement to the news or on their accounts when a show is coming to a close. Maybe they were hoping it would be a quiet cancellation? I don't think the Deadline article, who broke the story, had direct quotes from their reps either.
  18. I wish they would have done the prologue the opening too, among other scenes. I look at the show as another turning or interpretation of the wheel. The books could considered this too in theory, since they're narrated from a third person perspective but influenced by each characters personality and emotions. I'd personally like to see the show finished because I enjoyed S3, but an animation would be a nice fresh start for the IP as well
  19. It seems the same folks who dropped the Renew WoT website & got 180k e-mails sent out have started another, following the cancellation of the show. People who signed it will get an update on the new campaign soon. https://savewot.com/take-action/ They have a few ways to take acction to get the attention of other streaming services it seems. I'm personally hopeful after seeing all the fan efforts on social media the last few days. Notes: β€’ 49k Signatures as of 28/05/25 β€’ 62k Signatures as of 29/05/25 β€’ 80k Signatures as of 30/05/25 β€’ 90k Signatures as of 01/06/25 β€’165k Signatures as of 17/06/25
  20. Just saw this on insta, they answered a question about the book on the WoT show page. No responses to the flooding of comments about the show tho
  21. On a positive note, a video on tiktok about the cancellation has getten over 46k likes and growing. Lots more videos pouring out about it, too. Primes page is being flooded with requests to return the show in their comments. It seems like a lot of people who watched the show first and loved it are on that app, and they are vexed about it. Many are saying they would rather WoT than Rings of Power 😳 They're mass sharing the renew WoT website to keep updated, and talking about the blog post on dragonmount a lot too! They are saying stuff like "link with me sisters" 😭 We might even see an influx of fans from there to here. The video with 46k likes: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMS2ffeH5/
  22. The only time the show was advertised well to me was season 3. It suddenly popped up in my algorithm on fb and tiktok way more, and I was seeing more new fans than ever. So many of them were asking for book spoilers to get potential insight to the next season, it was fun to see.
  23. I'm happy to hear that, I havent seen any of their work yet but I've been hearing lots of people are enjoying Severance. WoT is definitely a show that needs attention to detail. They're already familiar with how to advertise for fantasy, as well, something prime really lacked.
  24. Some are saying Appletv could be a good fit since they tend to let shows go outside the new 8 episode standard.
  25. I do want to take a moment to acknowledge the work DM is doing keeping the site community oriented, and as bot free as possible, especially now as the topic is exploding. I much prefer websites that focus on quality and connection rather than places like reddit that are essentially 50 percent bots these days. Reddit and Facebook have been such a mixed bag, its sad to see people being made fun of for mourning the shows cancellation.
