Oh wow gorgeous little blonde baby! Love the pic with the cat!

    How are you doing, Lessa?

I feel like saying "tired and sore" is a little too cliche but it's true. Also, a little annoyed with the hospital because we had to stay an extra day. They keep the rooms so cold that he was admitted to nicu for a night because he couldn't keep his body temp up. I had even turned the temp cranked right up and the room either had a bad draft or something is wrong with their heating. It was a rough first night not to have my baby with me to say the least. I stayed in nicu for 4 hours because I didn't want to leave him there. I cried a lot because of it.

Other than that, we're back at home and settled. I may be a little biased but I have the best husband/Warder in _wolfbrother_. He's been taking care of Michael when I need to cook or sleep or clean or whatever. Only thing he can't do is feed him but soon he'll be able to as well. He absolutely adores Michael and it melts my heart when he's holding him

  2. Our little Warder, Michael James!

Born April 15 @ 8:18 am after I had to be induced the previous morning, he joined us in the world. He looks like his dad, tons of blonde hair and has the longest fingers/toes I've seen on a little one! We got home from the hospital yesterday and the cats weren't too sure of him.

We love him so much and we're so happy to be home!

  3. @Chaelca Both. As it's the more recent one I've only been on Destiny 2 though. A bunch of our friends are in a clan together, Power of Greyskull. Not sure why they didn't just call them guilds like everybody else but I guess they had to be different. I definitely prefer playing those types of games with other people though. I do hope they bring back the SR races because they were so much fun!

I've heard many Canadians say that they are very, very competitive when it comes to their ice sports.

That may or may not be true

I know quite a few people who love curling but I've never found the appeal. I love the costumes worn for figure staking. I feel the sudden need to go snow boarding again though...

  5. *throws fists in the air* HOCKEY!!!!!!!! *hurriedly hides all the white and red that was dragged in behind her*

I apologize. It is one stereotype that has merit, we Canadians love our hockey. To the point that we may or may not have changed a law for a day for the gold medal game in Sochi in 2014...well at least in Alberta we did.

Growing up I did watch a lot of figure skating as well. In our household, if the Winter Olympics are occurring, the TV is on. Doesn't really matter what it is.

  6. Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics were by far my favourite. I loved the opening ceremonies maybe not including the tech issue with torch though. Awkward! I also think it was pretty awesome that we broke the record for most gold medals won by the host country that year

One of the Program Managers at my job is Hispanic as is his wife. They both spoke Spanish and English to all of their children but had to stop with one because he began speaking Spanglish.

That can happen as well but I don't know how common it occurs. It's unfortunate they had to stop.

No problem Mother  Really glad I took that Child Development Psychology class when I was in university

  8. That is hilarious! Someone clearly has learned sarcasm from mom/dad.

I apologize if I get a little bit shrinky right now. I think a child's perceived advancement is dependent on culture, parenting, older siblings, and other factors. Kids absorb pretty much anything in information. If they live in a household where more than one language is spoken, they'll learn both at differing rates. Example, if English is prominently spoken over French, English is learned faster. If kids are exposed to more stimuli of the same category, it'll help them make connections between them. Each child also advances at their own pace. Some kids like to learn everything and some are more interested in things they already know. My mom runs a day home so I've seen lots of kids over the years and watch them grow. Interacting with other kids also can have a positive influence on their development.

My brother was more "advanced" than his classmates by the time he went to Kindergarden (age 5) because I was already in school for a few years and he wanted to know what I was learning. It got to the point where my parents had to tell me to stop teaching him because he was getting bored in class due to how far ahead of everyone was and at the time the school didn't know how to adjust for him.

  9. *shifty eyes* He may have cried after the first ultrasound in the car on the way home.

He's definitely gotten more protective of me. Around 12:30 am New Years Day we almost go into an accident. The roads were solid ice and somehow we did a 180 across the road, barely missing the parked cars on the opposite side. We got home and he said that his first instinct when it happened was to get between me and windshield to keep me from going through it. We're both fine, before anyone asks, we didn't come to an abrupt stop or anything like that, it just gave him a slight heart attack since he's not used to the roads being that bad.

Photo is from end of November/beginning of December, I don't quite recall

  10. Overall, yes. I only had morning sickness for the first trimester (yay!) so I haven't been sick for a while now. Some people at work treat me like porcelain and won't let me do things I completely able to, so that's kind of annoying. I do enjoy that I can feel him moving around now and _wolfbrother_ is able to feel  him moving around too. I have no clothes to wear pretty much because until recently the city I'm in didn't have a maternity store for some stupid reason. I had to go to Calgary, AB (about 2 hours drive, not that long) to get pants for work. I didn't know my size so I didn't want to order online. A few weeks ago I was asked if I was expecting a New Years Eve baby and when I told the person "no I've got 4 months to go" the look of horror was priceless.

Thank you everyone! We're very excited  and I'll be sure to post pictures once the little one shows up!
