AMOL Prologue now available!

Jason Denzel

"By Grace and Banners Fallen", the prologue to A Memory of Light, is now available! Due to some unforeseen mix-ups with other vendors, Tor decided to release the eBook prologue several weeks in advance of the original October 2nd release date.

“By Grace and Banners Fallen” is available now for $2.99 as either an ebook or audio download. The DRM-free eBook version is directly available on our website. If you already pre-ordered the book, make sure you are logged into our website and go to this link to download the prologue.

A man who loves the hunt begins a new pursuit, red veils appear, and one of the Forsaken stands newly revealed. The forces of the Shadow swell in triumph as the world unravels. By grace and banners fallen, the Last Battle has come.

The full prologue is a lengthy, action-packed chapter that has intense scenes and some great surprises. "By Grace and Banners Fallen" is the final Wheel of Time prologue. There's no doubt that Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson left some great surprises for us.

If you intend to buy the eBook prologue, please consider doing so from our website. You'll get DRM-Free versions for both the Kindle and ePub. You'll also be helping to support this website.

It has been a tradition of the series since Winter's Heart (released in 2000) where the prologue was released as an eBook several months in advance of the actual novel. The prologues tend to be about 40,000 words; or the length of a short novel. For many fans, paying $2.99 is worth getting that much content, especially when it is released 3 months before the full book. We certainly think so, especially when "...one of the Forsaken stands newly revealed!"

I tried to purchase the Prologue via Paypal and credit card and apparently failed in both attempts! PayPal shows no record and the confirm my order froze up when attempting a credit card purchase. I'll just wait for the audiobook of the entire book!

I heard that Gavid was the best character in the series. A crossbowman and complete badass? What a winner! He deserves his own book.

I've had to hide two comments from this thread and did a small edit on another one. Please refrain from insulting each other and from using swear words that go beyond our site's PG-13 limit. Putting symbols instead of letters still breaks the Code of Conduct if we can tell what words you meant. I've left in words that are fine under the PG-13 limit. Please keep that in mind when you post.

Noted, with apologies, though I thought that words from the books would be OK. In this context, they weren't, evidently.

Yours wasn't for the specific words, but for the tone of the post. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me.

You are asking for an awful lot of PII for the simple purpose of handing folks off to paypal. I found I wasn't comfortable with a fan site seeking donations to store all of the information you were requesting.

I do understand you have to verify the country that people are in for media distribution rights. Perhaps finding a less intrusive way? You have my ip address.

Off to Amazon then. Wait, no kindle. Looks like I wait til next year to read anything. I don't remember the last book being so hard to get into.

Anyone else having issues getting this to download? I have been trying for two days and it keeps freezing at confirm and pay. Is this an issue others have had and is there a fix?

    Thanks

I'm pirating it even though I've already purchased it because Audible keeps crashing iTunes. See how that works? Complicated anti-pirace measures that prevent me from just downloading a simple, versatile mp3 are now causing piracy because I don't want to deal with the pain in the ass. Next time I'll make sure I check the torrent site first.

Difficult to convey tone in text, isn't it - I should have ;) as well as using WoT language. Never mind, I'll be more careful in future.

It was satisfying. One question, if Jason has already read the whole book. Why is it gonna take another four months for me to read it? If Tor has already constructed one book, why so long for the rest? Tor, if you have some already made, please send my pre-ordered copy to me. I am very, very sick and I am not sure if I will last until Jan. I will die if I miss out, literally.

As I explained elsewhere, Jason was one of the very few people selected to be beta readers. His copy is a rough draft. The editing and printing for this book are not done yet. Jason got to do this partly because of his significant work in the fandom (running DM for 14 years, as well as other projects with Team Jordan) and because Brandon personally knows and trusts him.

There are ways around the US restriction if you have a kindle, if you go to manage my kindle change the location to a valid US address 'like the hotel you are staying at.' Then you can download your copy direct onto you kindle 'even if you left it back home' as the delivery is electronic rather than a physical delivery to the address.

If Orbit don't want my money then TOR can have it.
