That argument has merit. If you were 100% sure sock was scum, why didn't you vote them? I kinda know you, as in Town you like bragging rights more than winning the game. If I was wrong and voted you and you voted sock, you can end up bragging that the game was lost because of us. You not voting sock does look bad

 

The answer to this is pretty simple tbh, and it is still my pride.  Recently a list came out that gave stats for win rates and etc, Shad made it, and do you know what I saw?  I saw that my win rates were far lower than they should be because I've thrown too much looking for my own glory.  That may not be very easy to see from the outside, but I've responded to that list very strongly and the proof is in looking back at my last three(?) games since it was created.  I've not been low effort, or apathetic, or let something slip by like I would have before because now I have a record.  And you know I won't settle for less than the best of records.

For now I'm grabbing anything and everything that I see related to sock or myself from Shad's ISO.  I'll be talking about it and weighing in mostly afterwards, but it's worth noting beforehand that Eldrick and Shad have a lot of early interaction.  It's also worth noting that it would be impossible to not pull something out of this ISO, since it is crammed with content.  Might be WIFOM that you pull out, but there would be something.

I think the connection is silly. Villagers forget hydras and wolves forget hydras and wolves fake forgetting hydras for distancing. What matters is not giving people a pass for a mistake that can be easily faked.

This post was aids to me btw. My scum partners in past games have shown the same need to inform people of when a town read is based off bad reasons. They seem to think it will make them look more towny.

I still have a couple of pages to catch up on, but there are some things I find really annoying. First off it's the notion that when people do something that's not within their meta it is scummy. It might be, but there are more factors that need to weigh into a read such as that. I'm worried this site is becoming way too meta heavy, and we'll run ourselves into a wall because we're not willing to open our minds and try to look at motivations for changed behavior other than different= scum. 

 

Meta is also SO EASY to rely on as scum when you're trying to get someone lynched. If that someone has been just a little different to what they normally behave like, you can just harp and harp on that until eventually people agree with you. That's not good guys!

 

I'm also really confused that people have actually tried reading me off my posts from yesterday. Yesterday by the time I went to bed the thread had barely moved out of the joke phase, and I think the only game related thing I said was that I was feeling ok about Zander's early game. I guess if your read on me is based on meta factors such as fairly high post count and light tone you can town read me off of that, but tbh I don't think any of that would have been impossible for me to say as scum, especially not early D1. 

 

I hope during the rest of D1 I can get to talk to each of you a little bit individually, because I find that I can more easily assess alignment then. Whoever's online, you're up next!

I saw that my win rates were far lower than they should be because I've thrown too much looking for my own glory. That may not be very easy to see from the outside, but I've responded to that list very strongly and the proof is in looking back at my last three(?) games since it was created. Well, I am suspicious of you now, especially after how the previous night went. I have been doing some readings of my own and I am now not as sold on you as town, frankly.

For example, I started reading Shad's scum games from the past. One thing stuck out. Shad typically does not interact with his scum mates for a long time. THere could be one or two replies to his scummates, but largely he talks to others. There was even a game where he was scum with Zander and he didn't interact with him for a long time!
