I'm town, Thane so your connection makes no sense to me. Furthermore, i couldn't even see what on earth made you say that. So what sort of reaction did you expect?

that makes as much sense as your vote on me. Voting me for just spamming this earmy D1 is nonsense. Some people haven't even posted yet.

What did you contribute so far?

When you're the only one doing it it isn't nonsense. I have contributed in most of my posts in this thread, including questioning Wombat, Yates and voting for you.

here's something i find odd: i said that Verbal and Csarmi were scum together (which, evidently, means you too Des), and nobody even commented on that. Either it needs to stay hidden or nobody truely pays attention to what i post. (i guess number 2)

I saw this and after much debate chalked it up to probable spam, but it is in my notes as a reason I consider you scummy.

i WAS expecting something from either you, Leelou or Csarmi... like i usually get when i post silly things like that. Des usually gives me hell as soon as he sees me doing something like that, and now he only focused on my response to Barm's vote on me. For now, i think Csarmi's lack of and Des's way to reply are off.

Can you imagine that i find this a bit odd? It's unusual...

Well, I didn't say much about it because I was on your case for "silly stuff" last game and you were town.  Due to me misreading you, I'd rather sit back and observe more.

He LITERALLY has notes!

I've yet to see a game where Thane doesn't get called scum day 1. it's uncanny how often it happens. I vote for him every time and he's town 99% of the time.

Thane joking and being jovial is not a scum tell for him. He tends to need time to warm up and feel comfortable.

Right, but he was joking and being jovial about beer and stuff MUCH later than I would have expected it to exist.  I was suspicious of him as a result, and he was town.  So.......yeah.

It was to Barm actually. We cross posted.

Best way to read Thane is to be interacting with him realtime. That's his element as town and harder for him to hide his scumness.

Like two games ago i was all against lynching him (you know where you were scum with Tommy and Leelou) for these very reasons.

i don't remember which game it was, but someone called me the new Blackhoof for being mislynched so often D1... i think i need to be worried. And, yeah, i'm here now, so, if you're town, let's find some scum together, ok?

actually, it IS uncanny, and even this game, i once again am town. It's slowly but surely either a curse or a running joke on DM......

Just get scum more often and problem solved.

We still have a TON of people that need to check in. Do like your effort right now Csarmi, but think Despo is going for an easy angle for the moment. Lacked a reply of Leelou, and generally have an odd feeling about her. Might get better during the game (or not, and she'd be good to lunch).

Barm... someone who actually takes notes.... i respect that. A question for you, if you please: have you played in games with insane post amounts before?

Posted

Why are we talking about this? I'm not going to base my read on Thane on what he rolled in recent games and the fact that he got mislynched. Either we need to learn to read him better or he needs to adjust his play to be more readable. Or both. So lets put previous games aside cause they have no bearing on what he rolled this game.

I'm basically gonna try and understand where you're coming from, Thane, and make my own conclusions. But yeah, drop the previous games commentary.

How do you make meta reads on someone without the actual meta?

Sure Nyn, i'll just say this about it: Last game i was in i hardly ever mentioned my previous games, was very active as town and still got CFD'd into a mislynch D1.... Say what you want, but i truely do not expect to live past D1.

Now, back to this game: Arsis makes sense. Some people in here don't know my reputation/curse/uncanny string of events i randomly draw.

i need a beer.... but i'm at work, so can't have any.... darnit

I'm not saying you can't use meta. I'm saying I don't like him reiterating his past mislynces as if it's any indication on his current alignment. Yes, people were wrong about him in the past. So what do you do? You correct yourself accordingly to be more readable, you don't sit on your butt and whinge about it. The sympathy card doesn't fly with me... and he did coast as scum in his last scumgame because he has a name of being lynchbait.

I was the first DM person Kivam ever invited to JN (well second I believe, but FDM didn't get back to him in time I think) so... yeah I have.

He commented on other people talking about it though. I think I'm the one who brought it up and verbal agreed with me then Thane commented on it. Unless I missed him mentioning it before. This looks to me like scum coming down super hard on something silly for no reason to look town. Taking a hard stance on something like that to try to look good without actually having to scum hunt.

I just don't understand why it was brought up. The fact that he got mislynched a lot isn't meta. No one is referring to anything he usually does as town/scum. It's just being said that people often misread him.... so what? Am I supposed to try to read him and then choose the opposite alignment? No. I'm gonna do my best to read him based on his content and hope that his actions reflect his alignment. And if he keeps playing in a way that comes off as sketchy... then he's gonna continue being mislynched. But that's neither here nor there.
