My problem with Thane is that his tone always seems off to me and scummy. And half the time what he says doesn't make sense to me. Not sure if it's a language thing or what. The only difference I see is that on spaceballs, for instance, he was very much at the sidelines and coasting through with the off post here and there. He also really enjoyed using the confused card. Here so far he's meeting posts head on in real time. So it gives me pause. So I'm giving him a tentative null for now.

I just came out from a game with her where she rolled scum for like the 6th time in a row (we were hydra). We've both been angsty about the possibility of rolling scum this game pre-game. And while I'm not doubting that she could possibly mask her frustration.. I've read her since she entered the game as very calm. And that reassures me for now.

 

 

I do have a bit of a question mark in regards to Clov. He happened to be privy to a conversation Lee and I were having yesterday about really wanting to roll town this game and him coming into the game guns ablazing and going for Lee troubles me.

 

So Clov, you're gonna have to grab some quotes and show me exactly what makes you think Lee is scum.

Okay, so I'll back Nyn 100% on what she said about Leelou (and herself, for that matter) - when we were talking yesterday, neither seemed particularly delighted to have rolled scum in their most recent game and were holding out a lot of hope to be town this game, despite me trying to curse them into rolling scum again.

 

I figured this would be the easiest read of my life for Leelou.  If she seemed to have high interest this game and genuinely feel good about being in the thread, she'd be likely to be town.  If she was crabby and avoid...ative?, I would assume scum.  So far, I actually lean towards the former and like her chances to be town.  But I don't metaclear people, so I pushed her to see how she'd respond.  If she blew up on me, I could lock!scum her.  Anything short of that would help affirm the townlean I already had formed.  

 

Now that the cat's out of the bag, I'll obviously have to wait to clear her until she chooses to be more active in the hunt, rather than getting dragged in.  Gambit busted.  Thanks, Nyn.

Also it wouldn't even be that much of a coincidence honestly- you and Csarmi were hydra before so yall SHARED ALIGNMENT. Really it would just be you and Thane rolling scum together again, and well just because odds aren't GREAT of that happening doesn't mean jack as far as if it actually happened or not.

 

Now. I totally get that you might not understand this principle the best, so I don't think you're scummy per se for using that logic. BUT, the other weird thing is, using that logic is pretty strange when technically it's not really even defending yourself- for instance you as scum could have been laughing about me being wrong about either Thane or Salami or both, but still scum yourself, and laughing and going "What are the odds? Lulz". Even if that logic you were using COULD hold up here (which it couldn't), it STILL wouldn't be doing anything to actually explain why you could be town here.

I don't want to lynch Des today but he's given me a few bad vibes like he did last game where he's present but something's still wrong. He looks like he wants to keep me as a lynch option and is misrepping me when he talks about me. I'm skeptical when players I know *can* see eye to eye with me don't see what I see when it's pretty apparent to me. I think AJ is maybe a little afraid of discrediting me again in this game which might color his interpretation slightly but I think if I was way off he would correct me; so the fact that someone I trust sees the game one way and Des sees it another AND wants to paint me as scummy before he even knows who is correct is bothersome.

 

Don't like the nudge/soft push here and I don't even think he makes any good points here, besides the fact that whatever "vibes" he might be getting are wrong

 

If Hallia is scum then Salami was likely one of the players being groomed as a counter lynch. If neither are scum then we likely have 1-2 scum in the players who were a little too sure they're scum. Lots of people have called Hallia scum but nobody is even voting her. Des's 1-2-3 of Thane/Hallia/Salami is the low hanging fruit trio and we are gonna be in trouble if we just limply consensus in that direction. This segues into my philosophy rant coming up.

 

Only way we'd be in trouble is if that LHF group is all town... and even then if we pressure them and find out SOME are town and others get resolved, well then it still benefits town

 

A game I was hosting just ended and it was really intense; one thing I was reminded of from it is that wolves are so frequently in the middle of the POE. They aren't the soldiers on the front lines (at least not consistently) and they aren't the scummiest players that fall off the map and get lynched later for it. They display just enough WIM to get suspicion off them and onto someone else and then fade into the background again. They set up the dominoes and then let them fall. The more advanced wolves can hang in the thread for a while to gain town cred but once the village goes awry they fade out again. I watched it happen over and over. We saw this all last game with TG/Vos, Thane, and Halliami. So players who are always aggressively solving probably won't be scum and players who are aggressively useless probably won't be scum but probably will be lynches. It's those that are near the bottom of the POE but seem to always float back up a little when it matters that will be scum.

 

This however, doesn't benefit town at all. Firstly, I don't really agree with the strategy (focus on the middle) second it doesn't even seem immediately conclusive in any way here- who's in the middle right now? Thread is mostly people playing, or people completely slanking. I don't see much of a middle ground right now.

 

So don't agree with the premise, and also don't think this post is doing anything to help town NOW, so it seems like an empty post just kind of meant to try and softly push town in a different direction (and not a good one)

I haven't read anything. I got poked by mod and was like "oh shi-oot!" And we are on page 46 already.

Good news is that I have new insight on Nyn!scum so that should help me read her. AND I think I've finally figured out the puzzle to reading Des and Tommy. So I'm looking forward to getting my hands dirty.

I've only really been here since page 30, so bare that in mind when I say despothera is a little excessive in the quantity of his posts, but somewhat lacking in the quality of their contents. I have a feeling he might be scum, wouldn't be surprised, and have no problem with somebody confirming my thoughts and making a wagon of it.

 

That said my experience and evidence is fairly shallow so if you're not already swaying one way or the other don't let my opinion teeter you over the edge.
