Serious question, to Tom or AJ or Nyn (Who I can trust to give a reliable response), what are the chances there isn't a doc this game and how might clov gauge those odds?

It's not impossible. Maybe scum claimed doc instead of cop because of you and got lucky.

Nolder did this once when we were scum and coasted to endgame because there was no doc. But here the exasperation and long batch of notes that accompanied the claim that made me think it's real. We'll see.

Re-reading earlier posts and what I previously saw as hedging from Wombat reads much more reasonable in hindsight, especially his handling of Clov. You can see the "well I don't fully get it but other people feel strongly about it" inner struggle way back on page ~40. He's moving up to blue status.

His perspective on the game seems wide open and easy to read- he looks objective and isn't trying to twist things to fit a narrative or anything and seems to be considering others POV's in different manners to determine their alignments

Has his perspective shrunk? I thought his earlier thought dump read smooth like warm diarrhea.

I haven't read anything. I got poked by mod and was like "oh shi-oot!" And we are on page 46 already.

 

Good news is that I have new insight on Nyn!scum so that should help me read her. AND I think I've finally figured out the puzzle to reading Des and Tommy. So I'm looking forward to getting my hands dirty.

I kinda see what you're saying about Despot. The way he described me when Csarmi asked sounded like a generic description of town play instead of specific examples. I'm not putting him as a scum lean yet though as I'd rather reconcile on some other players first

Right now my top suspects are probably Hallia and csarmi.

 

Leaning townish on AJ and Nyn.

 

Null to town on Leelou and Wombat.

 

Null to scum on Thane. I'd like to hear more from him on some of the recent turns in the game.

 

Otherwise, pretty much null on everyone else.

Sili, being that you're unfamiliar with most of these players, my advice is to try and not rely on meta that much. I don't really play often enough to be very familiar with people's metas either, and I dislike relying much on what someone tells me about other players' metas.

 

I kind of feel like there's a little too much talk about meta around here anyway.

 

I have now typed "meta" so many times that it's lost all meaning to me lol.

I'm caught through page 27, mostly just need to read through all Despo's reaction posts now :P Some thoughts:

 

I'm not liking Hallia, mostly gut feeling. I have a tendency to not like Hallia though (I mean, I like her, but her posts often seem scummy to me :D). I mostly didn't like how she made sure to reiterate that she wasn't "rustled" after several people pointed out AJ had turned up before she voted him (when she'd said he'd turned up after).

 

There's a lot I'm not liking on csarmi, too. He sheeps Clov's reasoning for voting Leelou (though Clov's reasons weren't really clear), then when pushed about it, changes tack and backs off Leelou. Shortly after Nyn posts her suspicions about him, he makes sure to say that he likes Nyn so far this game - comes off to me like he's making sure he doesn't get defensive at her.

 

I also didn't like - and I don't really mean it seems scummy, I just mean I don't like it, especially if he's town - that he seems to think he should be obviously town to everyone just because he says so. I have played with him before, but not really in a while - I certainly have no idea what his town game looks like.

 

People that seem to be talking sense so far - Clov, Wombat, Nyn

So let me make this very clear.

 

I believe that the way Despoo was questioning Hally was probably the best way to kill her WiM and ensure that we can't figure her out.

I believe that it called for me to intervene especially cause i wasn't able to resolve her slot myself at all (explained above).

I believe that Despo suggesting that we should resolve her slot now (can't quote the post but it sounded like he was making an argument of "oh let's lynch her now cause even if she's town...") was scummy.

 

This lead me to believe that Despo is either being arrogant and not self-aware and wrong (he should know Hally) or he was looking to pysh a mislynch.

 

I will have to read through again to determine which.

Clov has been pinging since he came into the game. His tone is off. His "gambit" was lame. His interactions with me were meh. His following posts mostly involved him going after the newbie, which also doesnt make sense to me.

 

I've played with Clov as town. I've played with him as scum. Not only that, but I was with him in a scum team and got a feel first hand how he plays as scum. He will always respond to nudges and engage because he does that as either alignments. But he makes a ton more sense as town wheres as scum he nitpicks to make it seem like he's actively scumhunting.

 

I'm not buying it and I think he's scum.

Still agree with this. I also doubt Nyn could fake my perspective.

Yeah.  I have her as a dark green early in my notes as a result.

 

You didn't have anything "noteworthy" between 35 to 45. I already had you as Town by then, though, so some of the stuff you were saying was influencing my reads.

I didn't put it in my notes [i thought I did but whatever] but basically as of post 624 I had Nyn as dark green.
