@Yates-

Here's the thing that bugs me about you -

Our reads so far (in no particular order).

How can you possibly have me as null? I don't even...

I was curious about this post, so I started poking around.

it's hard to accurately describe the expression of an item of luggage, even if this one can move itself about, especially absent it's lolling tongue. However this Luggage seems to be staring pensively out to sea, watching the ships come sailing in.

Current Vote Count :

Krak (3): Verb, Sexy LouNy , Wolfish

Nolder (1): Yates

Verbal (1): Nolder

Cory (1): Tina

Sexy LouNy (2): Cory, Barm

Not voting (3): Dice, Hallia, Krak

With 11 alive it takes 6 to lynch

With only 1/2 of a lynch at that point, would Mish/Kronos brazenly follow their scum mate there in Leelou/Nyn? Or would they split their early D1 votes a little.....like voting for another reasonable "suspect" at the time in Nolder, who had brought up a weak case?

Would scumNyn put their only other teammate in their town or scum list?  I feel like that would be the first place we'd look to.....so would they perhaps place their only teammate into their null pile, so they don't have to take a stance on them yet?

For one - you are looking at day 1 of Day 1. My Nolder vote was CLEARLY an RVS vote. I think I mentioned this before but I used that vote to start a conversation. The whole idea was to create an interaction so that I could figure out his alignment - as well as yours, to be frank. I know you remember me from my scum game but do you remember how I play as Town? Even look at the game we just finished. I realize you were scum so you didn't have to "determine" my alignment but look at how I go about my business. I drill somebody then move on once I have a good idea of how I feel about them. That game may not be the best example since I did have to play a lot of catch up but you should still see it in the way I grilled Nyn wrt her Leelou read and how I grilled Tommy - which unfortunately I got wrong. Shoot, I did it to Cory in THIS game. It's how I get early reads.

That's a good question. While I can't answer for what they would do - you know their metas better than I do - let me answer it by simply pointing out my company in the null list. Dice and Barm were super OBV Town. I was well on my way there as well. It looks like she listed anyone she thought she might be able to get traction on in the scum list. And, yes, I think they would list their buddy as a Town read. That way they wouldn't have to explain why they didn't push on their buddy if they were to get lynched because "Town lean." I don't think this is a foreign concept to you considering that's EXACTLY how we acted as scum bros. We Town read each other. Ditto for how you guys just won the last game. You were all Town reading or Town leaning on each other. And, I'd like to point out, Loulee was in that game with you - as scum - AT THE SAME TIME.

As far as Mishnos goes? I don't see why not. Krak had plenty of suspicion early on. Plus, it seems like it would be easy to claim what you are - "Would we do that? Would we so obviously buddy?" And it carries in to exactly how Mishnos treated the LouNy wagon. The Verbal scum buddy school of thought, if you will.

My concern about this line of questioning is it makes it feel like you are trying to make this into a me vs Mishnos fight and seeing which way each of us would be willing to vote.

I was wondering if somebody was going to say that.  It is EXACTLY what I was trying to create the impression of.  Kudos.

The argument to putting them as a town lean, though, is being questioned on it.  To the question "why are you town on them?" - I don't think they would have a reasonable answer.  So it works both ways.....which is why null is a safe place to put somebody on D1.

That little tidbit is my big issue with you.  You are as capable of meta abuse as any competent player, so I'm not going to go down that rabbit hole.  I'm trying to think plainly and simply.

Well if you want to go in that direction... why did they have a Town lean on you or Mishnos? For Mishnos I'm assuming it was because Mish was defending them?

Not sure what you are getting at, here. Where would I be abusing my meta? I think I've been about as open this game as in the last one. I freely admit to wanting to slightly alter my meta to better fit the site and player base [ie. be friendlier and pull less complex gambits], but that doesn't change how I fundamentally go about the game.

Colon stood on the Brass Bridge over the Ankh River. Dimly he could remember Nobby standing with him, sheltered, out of the wind, and out of trouble "why did you have to get involved" he groaned, Nobby was the consummate survivor, how could somebody sneak up on him, it was impossible. Vimes was passed out at his desk clutching a bottle of C.M.O.T. Dabblers Authentic Mountain Dew, 150% proof, he wasn't going to be of any use. He frowned, this was a puzzle he'd have to think through himself, muscles in the brain, unused for a while started slowly to turn...

Granny Weatherwax was annoyed. Marching through the streets, minor demons, brought to life by the belief left hanging mow that it was no longer sustaining the Hogfather took one look at her face and skulked at the side of the street, flattening themselves to the ground and covering their eyes in the hope that if they couldn't see her, she couldn't see them. Truth was she was scared, and that annoyed her. There had been so many deaths, and nothing she could do to stop them, that was going to change...

He wore the last pencil down to the nub then blinked as of coming out of a daze. He noticed he was quite hungry, and wondered the last time he'd eaten, he wandered over to the door, there was nothing there. Leonard frowned, he'd been left on his own before, he preferred it, but Vetonari had always made sure he had pencils, and food before. He pushed at the door, it opened and he wandered through, this was a challenge he had to solve, but first to get out of the maze...

I was "reading" Leelou as scum, though.  She was "reading" me as town.  I was actually distancing a bit in that game, which is not how I normally go about it.

I went to fact check this:

You were "reading" Clov [Town Doctor] as Town.

Speaking of Clov, he's my #1 town, which is admittedly tied to my read on Salami.

This is the first interaction you had with scum mate Leelou - which looks buddy-buddy to me:

Verb - can you look at Clov's latest response to me and ISO his gambit he was trying.

Indeed I will.  I also need to figure you out, m'dear.  Might still be D1, but I should have enough to work with at this point.....

Actually - I totally forgot about this post - HERE is where you named all villagers as your Town list:

Actually, I think Yates belongs as green as well.  I feel like my lack of detail reading might make this reads list contradict because I'm not fully aware of any connections between these, but in a vacuum, here is where I'm at:

Des

Clov

Yates

Nyn

Everybody else

You really didn't say anything about Leelou until AJ poked you. So if you want to call this the absolute WEAKEST of distancing??? Okay? I guess? And this was only after AJ started threatening to vig her, iirc...

How are you feeling about Leelou? Do you think my points have merit?

Feeling uneasy about Leelou.  I read her best when I can observe her interacting with people in real-time and "going after" people.  I'm not seeing it right now, so I'm wary.  D2 and onward is when I'm ready to take an official stance on her, but I haven't had interaction with her since yesterday.  Need moar.

So I feel like that is less distancing and more cya.

Then you added this when it was obvious Clov was going to be lynched after Des's Guardian Angel flip:

Heh. Verbal, who were you going to push today if that NK doesn't happen?

Actually, Leelou.  My above point is accurate.  Possibly you.  You seem to be taking snipe shots whenever the opportunity arises.

But that was more you and scum bro Tommy blustering.

That actually made this claim look like it came out of nowhere [until I asccount for the fact Csarmi is now claiming to be a JOAT with a shot]:

Or because we're now in a position where Leelou has a town lean on me and I have a scum lean on her?  Cause I haven't been in this spot ever with her, I don't think.

You may think you were "scum reading" Leelou but it didn't come across that way. And her buddying more than made up for it.

Hindsight and all that.

Posted

Can you condense that to a point relevant to this game?

Yup.

Plus, it seems like it would be easy to claim what you are - "Would we do that? Would we so obviously buddy?" And it carries in to exactly how Mishnos treated the LouNy wagon. The Verbal scum buddy school of thought, if you will.

This proves your theory invalid.

- YOU claim they would put me in the null pile to distance.

- I claim they would put their buddy in the Town pile because they buddy.

- You suggested that the previous game where you were scum together illustrates that it's easier to distance.

- I illustrate with these posts that not only were you not distancing [until threat of Vig on said scum buddy] but SHE was still buddying.

Ergo: in answer to your question from earlier, it is clear to me that Leelou likes to buddy her scum partners so she would ABSOLUTELY put her scum partner in her Town list. That game that just finished is a perfect example. That game that just finished is a RECENT example. That game that just finished is a game that should be fresh in your mind since you were scum WITH her.

Here's the detail you're missing: it was Nyn that posted the reads list, not Leelou. She didn't chime in until after.

@Yates - Nyn is the one that posted the list.  You can't say that Leelou had ANY influence over it - we don't know that answer.

But still....it was Nyn's list posted.  I'm thinking about what NYN would do for that list, and you're focusing on what LEELOU would do.  While they are a hydra, they are still 2 very different people and we don't know how coordinated they were at that early point in the game.

Sounds like you guys want to vote me anyways.

If so, what would be your final words?

You guys are barking up the wrong tree - there's not much I can say to defend myself - I'm poor at that anyways.

In fact I can guarantee this is why I'm alive.

Funny, I was thinking the reason I'm alive is that I stated you guys as my first blue read early in the game.  That line of thought points towards you as scum.  Just sayin'.
