Hello all! (popping in between shifts)

 

I think Pral lives in India, so this is the middle of the night for him. That might be why he isn't really posting yet.

 

Had a discussion with my hydra partner, and I think that Turithian is coming off a bit wrong. (I'll be referring to GleMeri as "I" from now on because the royal "we" is awkward.) At first I didn't understand why we'd claim so early, given the recent game I was in with Arsis where most people got totally distracted from scumhunting due to his survivor claim. This seemed at first to be a similar situation to me. However, the object of Town is to win by neutralizing mafia. So, playing to that wincon, it makes the most sense for me to have claimed right off the bat. This saves a cop view that can be used to better advantage. It also means I am willing to take the suspicion around my role in order for Town to progress.

 

It doesn't make sense for Town to lynch me right now, because of my claim and because of my position. Later in the game, it might become the 'best idea' and again, if that was what is best for Town, by all means, do it.

 

However, it seems strange to me that with all this in mind Turithian is still pushing for my immediate lynch. Not only that, but demanding a consensus from others on whether or not I'm a good lynch candidate. If Turithian is Town, and truly disbelieves my claim and thinks that I am scum, they should be voting for my lynch regardless of the consensus. If Turithian does not think I am scum, then why are they focusing on me, and attempting to distract others from actual scumhunting? That seems to indicate an alignment that is not Towns'-best-interests-oriented to me.

 

Just a quick thought. I'll be around more this evening after my second shift, and hopefully my laptop will behave. (It crashed about nine times yesterday afternoon/evening with no warning. Suddenly black screen of death. Rargh!)

I did mention this before and everyone ignored it. I think it was lost in the shuffle. I don't like the consensus nonsense and the distraction from real scum hunting.

It does. I hope you can appreciate why I'm objectively seeing this game as vastly different from previous games we've been in together. I'd also be interested in your response to my previous post. Specifically, are you at all curious about how certain people "arrived" at a Tommy!Town read? Or are you not thinking about it because you know your alignment [and thus the validity] and move on to other things?

The people clearing me who have made me go "?" are Slender and Hallia, in that order. Doesn't mean they're scum but I was a little surprised at the level of confidence esp from slender.

My belief is that scum Puppets would be trying harder to stay above board so that he can self preserve. Check out the Final Fantasy game on VS I linked to for an example of that.

Eh... Tom likes to get the right lynches at the right times. It's possible or even probable that he was changing his mind on the read several times, especially if you factor in that he was reading other games of SP's as well. Meta is a real thing.

TBF - Arsis seems to be a scum read for a lot of people and is still the counter wagon. It would make sense for Arsis to want to be on ANY lynch that gains traction that isn't him, regardless of alignment.
