So far, we've seen a lot of really hardcore town powerroles. We've also seen mechanics that favor town such as quoting PMs. Haven't seen anything from scum except one single NK. Now some mention of Scarlet something Mafia. Implies there might be more than one fraction (I think?). I think it's very likely scum has at least one Godfather(ish) role. So... Again, I don't think we should 100% clear anyone. I think we should go after the most scummy people, by all means, but yeah - if this game is even remotely balanced, scum has some scary tricks up their sleeve. Rand has overplayed being cleared by me today, making me abit shifty. I think the whole NK-business speaks more of him as town than some strange scum gambit though.

Don't think this is that tinfoily.  The multiple scum teams makes complete sense, as does the gf things.  There are some things that should still work (such as masons, they both know each other are town from the mod), Yates for third party and mafia knowledge is probably town or mafia sharing his knowledge to seem town.  I agree that I'm not as confirmed town as Tommy or NotBob, but I still think I'm at a level similar to Darthe for example, which is what I was arguing for.  Plus mafia watcher godfather is a really weird combination imo, but I guess its possible.

The last post caught my eye because he gives Vos town points for calling X scum, despite Des calling X town repeatedly and never calling X scum himself. So I think that spews X scum.

 

 

 

 

Okay actual game thoughts-

 

AJ and Tsuki are both my strongest town leans so far. Both seemed to actually be interested in scumhunting early on, while they could have just as easily sat in the background or spammed during Dawn like others. Tsuki tends to be fairly paranoid early on as town. AJ could easily fake the scumhunting angle, but I can usually read him fairly well anyways. Gimme a few more posts of his, or a real good wot, and I'll have a lock read on him.

 

Krak gets the slightest of town leans for seeming to MAYBE be interested in scumhunting, enough to complain about the spam at least. We'll see if he's interested enough in the game to post enough to put that slight town lean to the test.

 

TG seems to be feigning casualness a bit, like he's trying to overdo the spammin blah mentality. I'm also more used to him coming out of the gate firing with gameplay, while also spamming alongside it.

 

Tommy is mailing it in so far, also unusual for him.

 

Everyone else - MEH. Watchin the Lenlo sheeple crowd tho, good chance at least one scum is trying to hide among the buffoonery there (also feel fairly confident I can read most in that group fairly well as the game goes along).

Was thinking this a bit ago, and while I feel a bit dirty using this reasoning, here's my thinking:

 

Nolder and Hoof are both >rand to be town. It's pretty much impossible that they're both scum, so either they're both town or one is town and the other scum, however adding two roles after all others have been handed out, and one of them being scum, would tend to imbalance most games a bit in favor of the mafia team, just due to the normal ratio of scum to town. Easier to add two townies, one of them perhaps with a nerfed role or something, then the other way around. HAd there been three late additions, I would have considered it almost definite that one of them was scum.

 

Again, I feel kinda dirty using this logic, however meh Mynd invited it by having the late additions be possible. Don't think that would break his game anyways, even if he didn't intend for people to game him for that.

For a number of reasons. My gut is screaming scum on him, he started the whole Lenlo avi fad then kinda fell off the map a bit once gameplay started, then he came back in and his posts looked forced. He tried catching Tommy on a TMI "slip" for instance that was weak, and just in general he seemed to be going through the motions.

 

Also highly suspect of Red and Tina. Red for reasons that should be obvious, Tina because I think she is trying to go along with the crowd, whereas as town she will normally ask more out there questions and do her own scumhunting. Also somewhat suspicious of Wombat, I can't follow him as well this game so far. He's had some posts that rankled me, might have to reread him later.

 

Tommy, otoh, is a bit of a conundrum, but for now I'm thinking he's more likely to be third party, which would make sense for his character (Quicksilver or Scarlett Witch). His play def doesn't scream town to me, and he's normally very good at broadcasting his towniness early when he is town.

 

Okay really gotta hurry now- I do have a fairly nice POE building up, so there's that at least.
