That's also one thing I'm really putting effort into.  I get all these ideas while reading, but I get too timid to post them.  So I may be wrong, but from now on at least you'll know how I feel about something

There's a lot of votes on Nolder. If he flips town we should go after Hallie. 

 

I don't like this post. Why would Hallia be scum if Nolder flips town? It sounds like you are trying to set up lynches.

Because if he's town, then a few probable townies now have a scum read on Hallia: Leelou, Nolder, myself. The wagon on Nolder went a little too smoothly, IMO. BFG (confirmed town) started it, another probable townie (Elf) got on, and then some grays/scum leans piled on it. Hallie, Hoof... Golden being on the end of that wagon seals the deal in my mind that Nolder is town (assuming Golden is mafia, which his low activity, weird interaction with Via, and behavior just now leads me to believe). Interactions-based reads can change a lot based on new info. 

 

I'm also uncomfortable with it because high scum suspects (Krak, Turin) aren't on the wagon.

@Nol - Wombat really isn't posting much in my mentor thread. I only voted you this time because I didn't want us to miss a lynch and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get back on before deadline. If you notice I was seriously voting Hallia up until a couple hours ago. She skates through more as mafia than as town. She has been posting a bit more so I feel slightly more comfortable with her around, but I don't like how she was quoting Yates last night. 

 

I'm uncomfortable with Goldy's posts in general. The first game I played with him as town he seemed to take a more logical approach to the game, the last game I saw him in he replaced in for me and was scum and that is more how his style feels right now.

Well that's around the time my activity started to fade in and out so I either don't remember your post or just didn't see it.

Hmm alright Effie, you have convinced me. You can be town. Nolder also looks more reasonable in this game than I initially thought him to be.

 

 

Actively engaging in scum hunting requires a certain degree of defending of other players, or rather of calling out a play that inadvertently defends their attacker.  I understand how a lot of people read that as a scum tell, yet I have many a time have called out a player's bullshit only to have someone accuse me of defending that player's target.

 

Did I put that right?  I think I did.  Defending is sometimes necessary only if it isn't a defensive tunneling.  Then it's scummy.  Or you're a cop with a viewing.

 

I actually agree with Krak on this.

Her prod towards Peace and her later vote on him means means that she is afraid of OMGUSing me. A townie would be less self-conscious about her votes than she has been thus far.

I wasn't generalizing. Peace's vote on Effie after my case on her made it clear to me that he agreed with my reasoning, and while Effie was attacking Peace because he didn't explain his vote on her obviously enough she never openly stated that she found me scummy. This seemed to me like she was afraid to accuse me, and instead decided to go after Peace.

 

I also don't like how you're making Elf out to be the center of attention.  

As if asking MetaWorld Peace for a reason on voting her is unreasonable.

Dude, you've essentially been advocating that Elf stop playing mafia.  If she can't question reads, votes, and make up her own mind, what do you expect from her?

 

 

1. I was going after her because I found her play to be scummy. If you are actually trying to blame me for scumhunting and putting someone under the spotlight while questioning her play then I honestly don't know what to tell you.

 

2. I never said that she can't question reads, votes and make up her own mind. I however expected that she would drop that part of her case on Peace after it was explained by multiple people that it's all part of his meta, and thus nothing out of the ordinary for him.

 

And anyone who is town shouldn't have to lie

To me it all looks like a setup and if you're scum you could just lie about Wombat's activity.

Or even if you aren't the plan could just be your own anyway.

 

I have an idea, why don't you follow me onto Theo and we'll try to take out the lowest postcount player besides the replacement?

You now all of a sudden agree with me? You didn’t respond back at me when I retorted your arguments for why I must be scum, and you kept your vote on me since then without bother to reply to anything in the game except to call me out for buddying, so your sudden switch to Hoof without explanation seems odd.

 

 

At this point I'm starting to get really suspicious of Krak. I only had one post before this one where I asked him if he was going to post something useful this game because he wasn't replying to anything except joking around a little and calling me out for buddying.

Oh yeah I forgot that DM Mafia is dead on the weekends. Silly me.

 

I tend to work 2/3 days on the weekend, and the computer we use is constantly spied on by the boss, so I can't really use it safely to play. That leaves the annoying process of phoneplay, and everyone knows phoneplay isn't as good as intercourse.

 

 

Also, I voted Blackhoof because his post reeked and I wanted to see reactions, which mostly consisted of you, Tom, and Turin questioning me. So, a small modicum of success.

Golden's OMGUS vote and later unvote, while in my opinion overreacted, does give me a town vibe from him. I also found Via scummy for only nitpicking and not adressing the game at large or giving her reads on the rest of the players. Her defense against Golden's vote also wasn't good imo.
