could one learn a weave from a book?

Which would make it increasingly difficult to draw an exact weave in a book without some sort of written symbols, but that would limit the flexibility of the weaving by giving them universal definition.

 

That isnt worded nicely. But I mean that a symbol could mean weave this exact form out of air, but if you needed a slightly different form of it, then the attempted weave would not work.
