mb
Not all readers are the same. What one reader likes, another may dislike; and vise versa. For those who dislike, skipping may increase time of joy.

wintermute
I agree that skipping chapters doesn't make sense on a first read. Others' opinions might not be the same as yours. With that said, the whole Faile in Shaido captivity is kind of irritating to me. Sure it shows Faile's character development, and throws some light on Morgase, Alliandre, Sevana, Therava, and Galina, but they're all relatively minor characters in my book. The most interesting thing to me in that plotline is that people who've just met Faile are ready to follow her almost immediately. This is the same sort of leadership ability that Perrin seems to possess (I hesitate to call it ta'veren effect because it seems more pronounced in Perrin than the other two). So we have in Perrin and Faile two very capable leaders - will they have a role to play in the world post-TG? It certainly seems a waste if their only role is to lead armies.
