is Moiraine the Light of the World?

I would also point out that the 'Angreal' she has must be extremely special, why would she waste one wish on angreal? For starters she states she is MUCH weaker than before, yet the angreal will make her MUCH stronger than before... now this sounds more like a sangreal to me, however is it that or does it have other properties, i.e. is it some sort of Terangreal/Sangreal Hybrid?

Wishes are generally likely to be tangible (such as the spear or medallion) or intangible such as memories filling the holes in Mat's memories (note that 'answers' werent given, but rather memories that imparted knowledge),

Personally I think that She has 1) taken the angreal, 2) modified it in some way and 3) modified her body/mind in some way (such as making her the seed for a new eye of the world or great serpent)

Apparently it is almost a sa'angreal, so yeah, it's a good'un. One of her wishes was asking to keep the angreal. She did not elaborate on the other two.

Giving it up doesnt mean it cant be used, just that she would give it to someone ELSE

Moiraine was ready to throw it away on the spot, not give it to someone else.

"I don't have much of the Power now, dearest Thom. Without this angreal, I wouldn't be strong enough to be raised Accepted in the White Tower. I will throw it away, if you wish it of me." She lifted out her other hand, barely staying modest. She pulled off the angreal.

-ToM, Ch 57

That proves that the angreal is no more than what it seems--just a tool to give Moiraine more strength in the OP. She doesn't have any special knwledge about it, else she would not offer to throw it away on the spot. As she was naked at the time of the rescue it's safe to say the Eeelfinn didn't give her any other objects. They may have given her something like the memories that Mat got from them but it's hard to see how something like that would help in the LB. It might but it would be something pretty tricky which is difficult to guess. I suspect that at least one of her requests of them would have something to do with her safety. They made it clear to Mat that those who don't ask fort that don't live long.

But there are other possibilities here. Moiraine also went through the doorway in Tear and got 3 answers from Aelfinn. Rand's seem to be quite useful so hers will likely be too. She also went through the rings in Rhuidean and got a lot of info about the future there. She has already used some of it quite effectively but there may be more. It could also be that Min told Moiraine some interesting viewings she saw about her. Min mentioned that she saw all kinds of things about Moiraine but she never explained to Rand what they were as she thinks Moiraine dead.

Lastly, Moiraine's importance may be unrelated to any knowledge she gained from the Finns or elsewhere. It has been suggested, for example, that she might be the one to kill Rand if he gets turned to the Shadow ( by merging with Moridin or in some other way). She promised in tEoTW that she would.

The Finn said 'you shall give up half the light of the world, to save the light of the world'.

So Mat gave up half his eye-sight to save Moiraine. But does that make her the Light of the world? What IS the Light of the world? Mat's other eye? That would be rather lame.

Any thoughts? Theories? Conspiracies?

I think of it this way: Sacrificing one eye means that you only see half of the light you would with two eyes, i.e. you give up half the light of the world.

This is it exactly. Mat is told that the price was already set, Mat repeats the line in his head and knows they are going to take his eye for the price. He also realises, also through the line, that Moiraine obviously has something extremely important yet to accomplish. Mat speculates that it has something to do with Rand and he's prolly right.
