Clearly as pointed out by several posters, AS do believe that writing is covered by the Oath. Moiraine, Pevara, etc, confirm it to the point where the BA hunters think it's an infallible way to find BA. The simplest assumption to make is that the word "Speak" as used in the Oath could be be more broadly translated as "Speak or Write".

Indeed, in NStN Moiraine was unable to say that her rooms were "nice", because she couldn't stand all the ruffle. She settled for saying it was "more than adequate".
