One minute too late as of: I think you never should have send the first message.

From what I saw (and i dunno very much of the game so far), pushing the cop for information at that point (especially when its done repeatedly) is scummy. If you're town, you need to trust the cop to reveal his information as he wants and when he wants. He has more info than you. So you leave it to him to decide how to use it.

Even I held myself to that day 3. It had been killing me, but I trusted Phelix that he'd know the whens and whats.

Yes but no one was certain you WERE the cop. As a townie I would have questioned as well. If there had been no major uncertainty of your claim then it would be silly to question; but in this case we needed proof of your alignment to trust your judgement in any other matter.

By the by I am thoroughly enjoying the aftermath discussion :)

And damn I wish I could've had Red as a mentor, she's an amazing player.

I have to say that even if I suspected you to be maffia Reyn I think you did a good job since you did most of the maffia talking. This was my first game but I have watched a few others and I have noticed that it´s easy to be killed for talking too much. I guess this makes people fond of lurking around wich I think is just boring for the game. You managed to stay alive even if you where active.

Everyone was pretty good at this game. it taught me a lot on how to ct and what to do in sticky spots soim pretty much fine. this new discussion is pretty good too. now the game is done we explain why we posted certain posts to begin with.

i'm guessing it's okay for the mentors to post now as well right :baalzamon:

well i was Mentor to Deadly (townie Deadly) & CS. and i thoroughly enjoyed the chance to mentor; even though me & deadly didn't spend much time together.

for me it was a suprise to come back on monday and find CS had false claimed as finder. real ballzy move by my mentee and executed perfectly imo. i'm glad that your mentor told you not to counter his claim Phelix, very smart move as the finder not to because 9 times out of 10 it's scum trying to drag out the real finder.

what clued me into you being the finder Phelix (liek i told my mentee) was how out spoken and adiment you were against his claim. word of the adivce for the future, had this been a scum gambit to draw you out; by acting liek you did, you as good as claimed "i'm the finder" so next time try to keep you cool

also, this didn't paint you as scum Phelix, because the scum woudl never be outspoken against a claimed finder. as far as the scum were concerned CS was the real finder; this is why i thought Reyn was most liekly scum tbh.

Phelix, i figured you were waiting to reveal when you got a scum; then push for lynching your confirmed scum to show your the ture finder and then start a lynch on CS the next day. i'd also figured that you wouldn't waste a veiw on CS because "why would a townie flase claim as finder" lol there are a few players i know that will false claim as finder when theiry townies; especially when their vanilla's. it's a dangerous game to play, but fun to do so *nods*

CS agreed with this *snuggles CS*

Reyn i pinged you as scum Day 2. it was your interaction and manipulation that tipped me off. because i knew that CS wasn't the real cop, and because i suspected Phelix was the real cop; i was looking for who used this chaos to manipulate things. i knew that the scum woudl be trying to get CS lynched if possible, so they woudl continue to remind people of how scummy CS was acting. i also knew that the scum woudl likely use a "niave townie" (in this case Phelix) to do their dirty work for them. Reyn, the entire time you were slightly egging Phelix on. backing Phelix up in his stance against CS and always bringing up what made CS scummy. this is why i had you pegged as scum

Deadly, one major word of advice. NEVER change your play style mid game. it will alwyas flag people and bring the spot light on you. if your town, the scum can use it to get you lynched; if you scum, it will highlight that you could be scum because typiclaly people are more active when their scum or have a role in these games

Thats good advice. For what its worth i didnt realize i changed my style until (forgot who) said i did. thats pretty dumb to do but. i still lived so thats good...

So aemon are you going to post the mafia board?

Lol hiya Red! I adopted Phelix and Arlow for the game, and I've got to say that I'm UBER excited to play against CS and Phelix both in mafia... this could be really interesting.

And you were exactly right, Red, on not viewing CS and not counterclaiming/etc, those were my thoughts. But then again, CS was a distraction... had we known he was town, it would have been helpful instead of attacking him as scum so much. I think what helped Phelix though was that CS was actually playing really scummy; any townie could have picked up on that vibe, and that others were kinda mirroring the same thoughts, he blended in more, though he was the most outspoken against CS.

I suspected Reyn and Tanaus as scum together, but we should have viewed Reyn. . . >_> Bah humbug, what's done is done.

As for myself, I've never played a real finder (Lol Kivam...) so this was a first time for me as well. haha. It was fun Phelix!

For everyone: how do you think having a tutor helped with this game? Good method for first time mafia players? Any comments?

Posted

Absolutely, tutors help a lot.

Actually, I think it's more fun to play this in a team, or with having someone to talk to, as alone.

We've had a good time with Red.

Acting very scummy was part of the plan so that people have to react strongly.

Lots of divisive talk about my role should yield a lot of information (plus I had to make sure the real cop won't get lynched because of me / will have an easy time coming out).

Claiming I viewed Phelix as town was the perfect move (and you must have been shocked to see that I claimed Phelix AND Arlow was town, both of your mentees) to lay the foundation of Phelix's come out (and ensure I might as well get myself believed).

I admit, I didn't think it through like that. For some reason I was sure I should give Phelix (the real cop) as town, but I didn't know why.

I think Phelix only managed to blend in because the Maffia was sure I was the real Cop. As you can see, we DID pick up he was the real finder (we had a good reason to be on the lookout for him, but were I scum, it'd have been the same, just for different reasons).

Were I scum, he'd have been NK'd day 2 the latest and Doc wouldn't have picked HIM to protect over an uncontested Cop.

I think it was great to have a mentor of my own! Aust teached me a lot. I think I did my worst moves before Aust contacted me. What I´ve learned is that I should be focused on more people and not just one at a time (Tanaus) and not to agree to much with another player (CS).

All this planing ahead stuff - well let´s say that for now I leave that to others and focus on staying alive...

Yes Mentor mine, it was useful having you there to bounce ideas off of. Though, neither of us thought Csarmi was anything other than scum... We'll have to remember this for future games.

And Tina... I'm sorry we lynched you. It just made sense if we thought Csarmi was scum... though, seeing now that Reyn was the real scum... well, yeah. Sorry!

Well Phelix, I have no hard feelings towards any of you. It´s just the game. Looking right now on the game you just have started I see that you may not even get through the first day.

Glad there are no hard feelings... and yeah, I think I made the same mistake Csarmi did in our game. Talking too much and drawing attention to myself. *sigh*

Meh, if I die on Day One my death will still provide info to the Townies to help get the scum. *is feeling patriotic for his team*

It´s too bad that the one who is taking the game forward often get lynched right away. But of course you gain nothing by lynching a player who is silence. I will cross my fingers for you.

*grins at AJ* i think the hardest thing abotu metnoring was not playing through your mentee. i kept saying what i would do in my head, but i didn't want CS to think that just because thats what i woudl do, thats thats the way it shoudl be played ya know. everyone has their own play style.

it was a blast watching a false claim by a townie though. i'm glad in this case everyone had mentors lmao, especially Phelix since he was the cop

CS i had a blast being your mentor dude!! hopefuly you learned alot from me to help you kick off your Mafia career. especially on how to get info from people and their interactions with others.

Tina - your casing on Tanus was great btw!! even though he turned out to be town, i agreed with it *nods*
