Im not prepared to go any further with this if people are going to throw out the "theory=pure speculation" bull. I have provided my evidence. If you arent convinced then thats fair enough, but to say I am basing it entirely on speculation is insulting given the evience (whether you like the evidence or not)

Agree to disagree.

I can't really think of anything that makes sense.

-Taim has to be an imposter unless RJ is just messing with us (but he wouldn't do that, would he?).

-Taim doesn't get crazy by taint (at least the old Taim)

And because I don't believe in coincidence this means old Taim already had some sort of connection to the shadow.

But if he's already a darkfriend, why replace him?

Taim = Moridin seems improbable just the way the characters are set up. Hard to explain. For example when Moridin tells Rand they shouldn't fight now. That kind of thinking just doesn't fit with impersonating Taim. I know this isn't really evidence based. It's more like when you're watching a movie and you know this one dude is going to die just because he's the kind of character that would die :p

Has the fact that old Taim doesn't get mad already been discussed (haven't read entire thread)?

We don't know for sure that Taim wasn't mad. He said so and his behaviour has been more or less, rational and logical. But he could be nuts at many levels while remaining organised, rational and logical. The only external evidence we have for Taim's sanity, is Perrin sniffing him during Dumai's Wells and Perrin can only sniff madness of the sort that involves a rapid switch of emotions.

It doesn't seem likely though.

10 years is a lot longer then what we've seen from anybody else.

And not even a small sign that he's a little mad?

None of the WoT main characters would probably count as entirely sane by the standards of modern shrinkage.

Depends on how much he uses the power and in what quantity/ intensity. Also, the taint hits different people differently.

Logain's also been channeling for a while and he's still apparently sane.

We don't have PoVs of either and there's no 100 % confirmation.

BTW, Demandred is the only free agent among the Chosen and senior Shadowsiders now, isn't he? Moridin controls the three surviving babes, he gave Taim a DreamSpike (whatever Taim's exact status may be), the other Chosen are dead and Shaidar, slayer, etc., act in tandem with Moridin.

If Taim was Moridin, I would think Rand would be able to tell when he's near him, seeing as though Moridin and Rand have a link to each other. I have nothing to back that up with. It's just a hunch.
