Dark One's Prison

1  What is the Dark One's prison?  Is it something that is physical or spiritual?

2  What part does the white sphere that exploded play?  It was obviously representative of the bore into the DO's prison.

3  Are there more white spheres?

4  Are these spheres physical manifestations of the spiritual prison the DO is captured in?

5  Could there be 7?

6  The location of the bore, is that what we now know as Shayol Ghul?

3- doubtful

4- no

5- not anymore

6- yes and no, it's where the pattern is thinest so... kinda.

The big white sphere was the Sharom, floating above the Collam Daan, the main research facility of the Aes Sedai in the AoL. The experiment that led to the Drilling of the Bore was conducted there, hence it exploded at the moment of Drilling. Ironically, both AS responsible for the experiment, Beidomon and Mierin Eronaile, escaped unharmed.

There are no more structures in the world like the Sharom, which was unique. It had nothing to do with the DO's prison.

The Bore exists everywhere, but a thinning in the Pattern at Shayol Ghul allows one to sense it there.

As to the exact nature of the DO's prison, my best answer is RAFO. We know more about the Seals LTT used to patch the Bore, but even there we don't have a lot to go by.

The DO is outside the Pattern, they found where it was the thinnest and drilled into the Pattern there. That's pretty much it, if you need another analogy it's all these oil companies drilling for more oil, and they keep unleashing hell until we all die.

So the Gulf of Mexico is the new Blight, and the BP directors are the new Forsaken. Hmmm, works for me  :P
