Didnt RJ say that the True Source is finite but cant be used up? I imagine that to be the case with the Dark One as well.

There's supposed to be a balance right?

But Brandon seems to think that the OP is stronger...

I suppose it wood be since the Creator imprisoned The Great Lord during creation.

Probably. But I would imagine that it would take some time for the TP used to return to the DO, and the more people he allowed access, the greater amount of TP would be unaccounted for.

Interesting thought. However, Rand noted in TGS that when he channeled the True Power it rivalled the Choeden Kal. What I believe, from that, is that True Power usage doesnt go off channeler strength, or at least not in a similar way to the One Power. I mean, the only way Rand could compare them was by how much he was drawing. I see a few options.

-Rand cant tell how much True Power gathered matches gathered One Power, if you know what I mean. He cant compare the ammounts he channels accurately. (Doubtful)

-True Power usage is affected by the size of the Bore, and would be restricted were it granted to more than one person. Hence Moridin being the only granted user (Doubtful, but not aqs bad as the first)

-True Power usage doesnt go off channeler strength at all, only the ability to channel itself. There is no buffer because its an unnatural-to-the-Pattern granted ability as opposed to a natural channeling ability inherrited according to the Wheels wishes.

Not the only options of course, but Id say the third is the most likely of those three

You are assuming that Rands assessment of the amount of power he held was correct...

The True Power is perhaps more powerful then the One Power in the way a drugged up person is more powerful then someone not drugged up. In the moment the drugged up person may be, but in the long run maybe not.

I find it interesting that Brandon used drugs to illustrate this, as we know from earlier that TP is extremely addictive.

And while I was looking for that quote, I found something else...

About swearing to the shadow – basically, it’s a very bad idea and you forfeit some very basic protections when you do. SH has special power over those that swear to the DO, and the forsaken in particular. I asked about Alvairin’s special mark, and he said SH has similar power over her. The implication is that there are lots of ramifications for swearing to the DO. Brandon mentioned that this makes Verin all the more remarkable.

That might be the answer to whether or not SH can cut off non-dark channelers from the OP.

That may be the case, although Alviarin was cut off from the Source in SH's presence before she received the mark from him.  Of course, she was already Black Ajah, so that's not conclusive, but the mark itself is not what cuts them off from the Source.

Thank you for finding this quote, Majsju. I agree, and so far this is one of the best pieces of evidence to my belief that SH cannot cut off non-dark channelers from the OP.

Please, would you show me where the source is for that quote? It sounds like its someone reporting from one of the Q&A sessions at a TGS book signing.

I think balefiring Shaidar would result in permanent damage to the Dark One seeing as Shaidar is part of himself. So killing Shaidar, maybe might be what is needed to make the Dark One weak enough to reseal again.

I dont think balefire will be his undoing though (no pun intended)
