I don't know about that, he can very subtly smack you around the head with the fact he hasn't conclusively answered something yet. Plus, he has an editor who can say "Too unambiguous. Rewrite it." After all, she can look at the notes as well.

So, the idea that the vast amount of energy channeled through the Choedan Kal might have healed Rand's madness isn't completely off the mark? Quite frankly that's the first thing I thought when I read the final scene in TGS, but then I heard dissenting opinions from friends on the subject. Personally, I believe it repaired the worst of it, but there will still be traces of the damage left in the last two books.

Lews therin and rand are the same soul so rand was in a sense talking to himself. He was remembering one of his past lives by getting in touch with his inner soul, thats how i see it

I totally agree with this. I guessed that Lanfear was one of the reason the memories came. By (re-)creating similars situation (a discussion, or something like that), Rand remembered things he lived during the AoL, like with amnesia.

He is, in a way, responsible of the coming of the voice, I would say. When you look at the first books, there are mentions of Rand discussing with himself, and it looks like it's another person saying what he says (I don't have any example in mind, and don't have the books with me as I am at work) And the more he remembered, the more he stuffed those memories into another personality. Maybe the fact that he already talked and answered himself helped creating a new personality. (Maybe he infused those memories inside this internal voice)

I don't know if I am in-topic....
