Wow! We're ahead...sort of...

Round 2 action is done.  We saw some typical results in this round.  There were only two upsets and one of those was a 5 seed over 4 seed one. 

 

Region K:

Rush showed Nickelback what it really means to be a rockstar, while Ted Nugent gave the Doors cat scratch fever.  Lynyrd Skynyrd used mr saturday night special on Eric Clapton, and in the major upset of the round, Def Leppard was left in hysteria by Alice in Chains. 

 

Region S:

Ozzy shed no more tears for Whitesnake, while Motley Crue could not find dr feelgood against Aerosmith.  Queen bowed to Van Halen stating you really got me now, and Pink Floyd left the Who comfortably numb.

 

Region H:

Metallica played master of puppets to Alice Cooper, as the Beatles left Bon jovi living on a prayer.  Led Zeppelin debunked ZZ Tops sharp dressed man myth, while ACDC sent Shinedown on the highway to hell. 

 

Region E:

Jimi Hendrix proved to Kiss who the real doctor love was, and in our minor upset, Bad Company left CCR asking who'll stop the rain.  Black Sabbath left Poison feeling a bit paranoid, as Sammy Haggar laid some heavy metal on the Rolling Stones.

After some thrilling action we were left with four battles....each pitting a #1 seed against a #2 or #3.  In two cases the top seed was toppled.  Both powerhouses, Rush and Metallica found themselves left wondering where it went wrong.  Giving Skynyrd and ACDC a shot at glory.  Ozzy and Hendrix however showed why they were seeded first and slid through to the semifinals. 

 

ACDC flexed again to push it's way through, and Ozzy showed that alive is better than dead against Hendrix.
