Interesting Blind Guardian WoT related tweet...

While I was adding a few musicians/bands for the Band to follow on Twitter, I came across the following tweet by the German power metal band, Blind Guardian:

As for album recordings, Oliver and Jan turn it up a notch and nail down "Wheel of Time". http://bit.ly/cat2N0

It looks like Blind Guardian are continuing their story telling songs/albums, after their lengthy focus on Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy being a popular source of material.

More news on this via Twitter/Facebook:

Another busy day for Jan and Oliver who will do some additional bass lines for the neverending "Wheel of Time". After tea time they somehow become sinister - nothing seems "Sacred" to them. Each step takes us a little closer to the end of the road. Therefore Charlie/André/Marcus and Hansi prepare for mixdown.

Their next album is out sometime later this year. I know they are on tour during September (I hope I can see them 2 days after my birthday!), so I'm guessing they will have new stuff for the tour...

Latest tweet from Blind Guardian relating to their forthcoming WoT song...

The "Wheel of Time" does not lie broken so far - but instead does as the pattern has chosen.

Another Tweet (and the full information off Facebook) from Blind Guardian over the track called Wheel of Time...

Since we like the "Wheel of Time" so much we decided that it is time for another stunning vocal session. We do some ear candy recordings somewhere in Bremerhaven with the gigantic Bach Choir Bremerhaven.

Latest news on the WoT track...

The "Wheel of Time" is not bothering Charlie anymore, neither is he concerned about "Sacred" any longer - which by now has a length of over 9 minutes. We already have our focus on Teaser No. 2. It might take a little longer, but not that much maybe a week...

I am not sure if the 9 minutes refers to the WoT track, or Sacred. I'd be surprised if it is Sacred, as the track that came out with the computer game is about 4 or 5 minutes long.

Latest tweet/Facebook entry relating to the WoT track:

Lazing on a Sunday afternoon? Not at all. We are becoming more and more picky. Charlie has started "Valkyries" while the rest discusses final adjustments on Road of No Release(piano), Wheel of Time(choirs) and Sacred(more orchestra? less orchestra?).

I have just seen on the Blind Guardian website that the Wheel of Time is the 10th and final track of the forthcoming album, At the Edge of Time, due to be released in Europe on July 30th 2010.

Wow! Another Sacred 2 player!

*high fives Impy*

Not long until the end of the month when the album is released. And September inches closer when I will be seeing Blind Guardian live!

How far did you get with Sacred 2

I got part way through silver before it got a bit repetitive also did the speed run on bronze.

I wish they would play Birmingham. London is a nightmare to see concerts at.

I finished the Light side. I can't remember what level. I have the expansion pack, but not installed it yet.

I currently have a spare ticket for Sunday 26th September when they play here in London. Northie has first dibs on it, but she hasn't committed yet.
