Has anybody seen these anime?

I am thinking about taking a class on Tokyo Cyberpunk and apparently these are some of the anime we would be watching (I assume just an episode from each):

 

 

Akira

 

Astro Boy

 

Ghost in the Shell 1 & 2

 

Memories

 

Metropolis

 

Robot Carnival

 

Steamboy

I've seen Akira and Ghost in the Shell.

 

Akira's animation is a bit sketchy, but overall it's a pretty kickass story. Ghost in the Shell is just a tripped out awesome ride of awesome, awesome visuals, awesome story, awesome premise.

Awesome :) All you have to do for the class is right two papers and some reviews of what you watch. No tests or anything. I guess I'll take it. Thanks.

Anyway if all you have to do to pass a class is watch two cool movies, I'd be signing up. And I'm not even in school...

 

I'm sure people will be along to advocate for Astro Boy also, but I've never liked the small amounts of it I've seen.

Hehe yeah that's all  ::) Well to pass the class you need to write two 5-7 page papers, and then two reviews (I assume on what you watch in class).

As for this, I actually found this thread kind of hard to read through easily especially to find out about these specific ones. I really could look them up online...but I figured I'd ask here first.

 

It's rare that you take a class where people would actually read or watch the course material of the class for fun.

I *love* the art to akira, it was one of the very last hand drawn animes. They just had a very different look to them

Astro Boy is a great show. The original anime style, very different from anime today. And I really love the art for Ghost in the Shell.
