New Spring the novel *and* New Spring the story??

I just finished New Spring the novel.

 

But I recall having read a short story called 'new spring' some years back. I think I got it from the net somewhere. In this short story Moiraine bonds Lan too but in another context, I believe somewhere at some lake. It was a whole different story, much shorter, almost only a chapter I think..

 

Somebody knows what I'm talking about? I wanted to compare those but I don't have the short one on my harddrive anymore. Is is somewhere downloadable? And can somebody please confirm there *was* another New Spring please (and I am still more or less sane)?

New Spring was originally a novella that you can still find in copies of Legends. This is a big anthology with authors like Terry Prachett, George R. R. Martin, Tad Williams, Stephen King, etc. The novella actually isn't much different from the novel, it's just the last half of the novel. Starting around Chapter 15 to the end, it's pretty much the same. You can find Legends at most bookstores like Borders or Barnes and Nobles in the Anthology section.

It's pretty much the same you say? Well, it's a long time ago I read that novella, my memory must be failing.

Yeah, New Spring the novel actually expands on the events prior to what actually happens in the New Spring that was a part of an epilogue of one of the books I believe. I read it online myself so I am not sure which book the smaller version was a part of.

That collection was awsome, I remember eagerly buying it back in the day for Little Sisters of Eluria and then picking it up one night and realizing that it had a frickin prequel to the WoT in it :D
