Am I the only person who is obsessed with reading??

I don't stay up and read......I have a bad habit of falling asleep while reading (not because I'm bored, just tired)and then mixing the book with dreams and yeah....so i just get rest and get up early so I have time to read before the day starts.  I do tend to get stingy with my reading time, I get grumpy if I don't get at least an hours worth of reading.  I'm the, "leave me alone I'm reading." type.

Hahahaha glad I started a thread with no arguments....but how can there be one when it's a site for people who read WoT??

I fall asleep reading too...but I still stay up reading anyways....

It is like a baby's bottle to me. ;D

I am too...but you have to answer the call of chores after awhile...:D

Some people might say they only read when appropriate...which is always...or something like that.

My thing for the past 2 years has been audio books..  I just find I am more productive.  It is crazy, but I can almost hardly justify just sitting with a book for a read and doing nothing else..  I know, not for everyone, but I find myself driving a lot with my current occupation, and books are a marvelous road companion.  They are not a bad companion when you are washing the dishes, or shoveling snow either..  just saying.  I am re-reading all the WOT books right now via audio, before tackling the new co-written one.  As I said, I started with these in High-school back in 92'.  It is amazing how much I have forgotten, or perhaps missed the first time through.  Aside from the major plot threads which are known to me, it is almost like reading it for the first time..  Anyways, just wanted to make a little plug in this thread on the behalf of audio books.  I mean, if one was concerned about looking like a nerd, you can always pop on am mp3 player with the WOT or another good book on it and bob your head like you are listening to some killer music.  All right, that is two plugs..

I tried audio books once and they don't work for me, I just don't like being read to.  Also when I listen to things I tend to drift away and think about something else.  I do it with music also, I will listen to my ipod and drift off and forget the ipod was even there, so I can't concentrate with audio books.  Some people say they work great for them, I guess it's different from person to person.  I just like to sit and read.

I want to get the audio books and read along with them, because sometimes at night, I am too tired to hold the book up, but I won't be tired enough to actually sleep.

:P lol..I know...I is weird.

Mee too. I lie in bed awake for ages trying to read, but not enough energy to do that so i'm left lying there kind of trying to get myself to do anything...it looks pretty comatose. Anyway  ::)

...anyone in my class (that's grade, to you Americans)

lmao...we know what a grade is you....w/e you are. :P

I was saying that where i come from, what we call a class (eg 5th class) is the same thing as the American grade system. The numbers are kinda outta sink, so don't try to decode it xD

[qoute]

Hmmm... people like me... I'll leave now though because I'd rather be reading a book than talking about reading books...  ;D

Who says they like you....:P

I like you =D

But i believe it was 'ppl who are like me'.

As to the longest without disagreement post.....

I disagree! I'm pretty sure the 'who else hate's Faile' thread remained unanimous up 'til bot the 10th page...

HAHA

Ive always gotten the same from quite a few of my friends who think reading is "Stupid", "useless and "a waste of time" when they could rather watch television or play video games. Don't get me wrong, I love television and video games, but I love reading as well.

I used to read slow, but I found the more I read the faster I got.  Now I read pretty quickly.  If I stay on a book then I can get it finished before the average joe.  I also read something that mentioned that fast readers retain more information than slow, strange you'd think the opposite, and also that moving your mouth and reading slows you down a lot, so if you the type that silently moves your mouth while reading you should try to break the habit....it was interesting.

We all like TV and Video Games, but too much can rot our brain, that's why I always read after playing video games hahaha. I have to say I would rather read than watch a movie.....if I said that at school the whole room would gasp..hahaha

I agree. I would much rather a good book, a poem, a painting, nu metal or classical music to a movie. However if it's a very good movie with something to say, and gives one time to think, System of a Down can have the day off  :D

Juno, for example. Now there's a movie with something to say
