Crackpot Theory: The North and South / East West as one

Reference: Rand visits the Aelfinn and asks "How can i win the last battle and survive?" Their answer is: "The north and the east must be as one. The west and the south must be as one. The two must be as one. If you would live, you must die"

My theory concerns the first question and answer concerning how he can win. I don't believe that the north/east and south/west concern geography. Well, not specific land anyway. I think that it concerns the white and black towers.

Take a look at the symbol of the Aes Sedai (the basic Ying Yang symbol). It you look at it as a globe the north and east areas are black (men, black tower), and the south and west are white (women, white tower).

Both of these towers have been split. The white by tower and the rebel Aes Sedai, and the black by those loyal to Taim and those that are loyal to Rand

In order for Rand to win the last battle, both of these towers must be made as one.

Please note that the Aelfinn did not specify that Rand needs to be the one to unite them, just that it must be done for him to win.

Interesting theory.

Political geography seems to be a more reasonable interpretation because it is supported by at least one other prophecy (Karaethon Cycle)::

The north shall he tie to the east, and the west shall be bound to the south.

Crown of Swords Chapter 34

The ying-yang symbol could relate to the geography also.

Borderlanders (north) & Aiel (east) were the most frequent people that faced shadowspawn before the main series.

The headquarters of the Whitecloaks has been near the southwest.

Hmm, odd the way channelers from each of the four factions are causing the seperated towers to be bound, if not united, by all the bounding going on, both ways.

Is not the suggestion that he needn't do it negated by the profecy though :
