Eye of the World Comics

Hi guys!

Maybe you already know, the Eye of the World comic 1 was out about one month ago.

In the Italian forum, we got very disappointed because of the poor work the Dabel Brothers Productions made with this number 1,  instead the prologue was well drawn and coloured.

 

If you haven't seen it yet, here is an instance of the artworks  >:(

 

 

We decided to send an email to the DB to complain about this issue:

 

Dear Ernst Dabel,

I’m writing as representative of the “Wheel of Time Italian Forum” in order to complain about the last comic of the mentioned saga.

We noticed that the strips of the previous issue and the “New Spring” comics are drew in a different and better way by M. Miller and H.Tolibao,

On the contrary, Chase Conley did a very poor work with this number 1, in fact the strips look like not only not full-coloured but also bad-drawn.

For instance, Moiraine character deserves our blame: in the picture where she is talking with Ewin, Mat and Rand in order to give a silver mark to each one of them, she looks like the village idiot, instead she should be the most sparkling woman they have ever seen.

The smile she has is not what we expected, since she is a powerful Aes Sedai she cannot have that mother-like smile on her face, it should be cold!

And then Mat character seems a young boy of the 90s with that haircut.

These are just few examples but in general we are all agree saying we preferred the old drawers, Mike Miller above all.

If it's necessary we could sign a petition in order to ask you to change your mind on Chase Conley and think about to hire again Mike Miller, that every “Wheel of Time” fan appreciate.

Faithful the next comics will be as beautiful as New Springs and the prologue ones.

We intend to make this petition if the next issue will be as bad as this one.

In the italian forum we are not so many users, so we decided to ask here on DM in order to ask the american fans too. Maybe in this case we will succeed.

I registered just to say that I agree: the art on this issue really sucks... and the colors, which where beatifully vibrant in the prologue (issue #0), here are dull and lifeless. I really hope it was just a disorganization problem and that the other issues will be the same quality as the prologue...

She looks like a complete doofus in the picture. An air head.

I know they aren't able to describe the sound of her voice since it's in comic form but surely they could have moderated her expression a bit.

 

Though, I don't have a problem with the art on its own but when compared to the NS artwork, it is completely lacking. Best of luck with your letter =)

NS artworks were wonderful! Why can't we have the same quality even in Eye of the World comics?

I know I was very unhappy with the quality of the artwork, and I would definitely sign a petition.  If the rest of the comics looks like that than they wont make it through much of the series. (which would not be cool :'( )

Yes, I think very few will buy them and so they will stop the issues..

Surely I won't be between the customers.
