Hey guys. My name is Sean I am from Westport, MA in the USA and am currently listening to Wheel of Time off of Audible.com. I am currently listening to Book eight and should be on book ten by the end of this month.

I have read or listened too The Enders series, Lord of the Rings. most of the Forgotten Realms series of books, and will be moving on to Dune after I finish the last WoT novel available.

I love the podcast too. Losts of good insights and gives me stuff to think about while at work. During the day I do landscaping so I have eight hours to listen to my ipod. At night I work as an EMT out of Boston, MA so I useualy listen until I fall asleep (hence why I can listen to like 4 novels a month plus have 30 podcasts and 80 gigs worth of music).

Anywho, I look forward to the continuing discussions and can't wait to take part in a few.

Man, I haven't read half the books you have, though I have read dune.

 

Anyhow, it is always good to see a new face round these parts, the discussions are interesting, if rather brutal, so I would read a few of them before jumping in.

 

Anyway, I would look into the Orgs and Divs too, since you never know what you might bump into  ;)

 

If you have any questions, feel free to post them here, or send me a PM and I will answer them as soon as I am able.

Welcome to Dragonmount Jack, I have to say, you've got a pretty solid lineup of books there, Dune is my alltime favourite sci-fi series; I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

 

Just so you are aware, the image in your signature is a bit too tall, as it can only be 125 pixels tall.

 

Now, as you haven't finished the books yet I'd recommend sticking to the Structured Discussion board in order to avoid spoilers, though if you don't mind those, don't hesitate to jump right in to the rest of the WoT discussion boards.

 

As for the rest of the site, I have a sticky above called 'Forum Navigation Explained' which should cover that, if it doesn't, don't hesitate to send myself or Winterwinds a private message asking youre questions.

I'm Elgee, a Chosen of the [glow=red,2,300]Shadow[/glow] Side at the Black Tower (Org) and Red Aes Sedai at the WT (both Org and Div). Confused enough yet? It gets better - just you wait!

 

Of course, at the White Tower (Org) we have only the Light side, but at the Black Tower (Org) we have both the [glow=red,2,300]Shadow[/glow] and the Light sides.

 

We do stuff all over ... interesting stuff ... some even based on the Books  ;D

Yeah so what are the orgs all about anywho? I used to play Battlefield 2 and I did an online tournament called 21CW. We were broken into divisions with Sgt.'s amd Lt.'s and Generals and such, but we were playing a game you know? I shot guns and blew stuff up (I was one hell of a helicopter pilot!) So in a long way I guess I am asking are you guys playing a game? Is it like Evercrack? World of Warcrack? Spore? Battlefield? Team Fortress? If not I think a first person shooter based on the Wheel of Time would be pretty fun. lol.

Hahaha, the Orgs aren't based on any sort of game actually, they are just various places for people to hang out in, some are modelled after the books, others are just named after them. For example, the White Tower Organization is modelled after the books, the Seanchan Organization is a place for discussing TV shows and Movies and console games, the Band of the Red Hand is modelled after the Band in the book, but discusses Music and Travel here on Dragonmount.
