I really don't like Perrin. He is always moaning and crying about something. Hr was especially annoying in the book, I forget which one, but the book where the tinkerer woman dies at the first.

My apologies, I should say whiner, if he would actually break down and cry it would fix a few of his problems.

.... he has had some pretty crappy stuff happen ... and he is only 21.  Truthfully, the world is lucky that all three of the ta'veren boys haven't lost it.

 

And in Perrin's defense, he did let it out after his family was murdered.  But the person to whom he can "let it out" was the one taken in his most recent difficulties ... and he can't afford to break down in front of Berelain, or the Aes Sedai, or anyone else until she got back.  Berelain would try to use it to get him in the sack, and anyone else would pounce on the weakness.

No. I do not hate Perrin at all. In fact, Rand is my favorite character from among our Two River's boys, and Perrin is my Second favorite character. I am not one of those WOT fans who get all giddy almost every time I read a POV from Mat; although I like him, but still don't get giddy wit joy every time there is a Mat POV.

I just finished reading that part (it's in tDR).  He doesn't cry or anything like that about the Tinker woman (Leya).  He tries to prevent her death, he's angry about it, but he doesn't get whiney about it.

 

He starts getting whiney when Moiraine catches the fish and doesn't clean them, then he and Loial start doing all the chores...that's when he starts whining.

I cried when I watched "We are Marshall." Actually sometimes my wife makes fun of me for how emotional I get during some movies.  If I sit through Braveheart or Gladiator, forget about it.

 

Perrin's my favorite 2 Rivers boy, then Mat, Rand comes in last.
