Great news and the Return of CO...

Okay, the MoN has already declared her intentions to have me do some major, major penance for not being around - especially since I was getting pretty darn close to advancing to der'Manishma and could be a much bigger help.

 

But, then, as usual, I let my silly life get in the way and pulled a disappearing act.

 

But, I have some wonderful news to share from my real life - you know, the job that prevents me from being sociable on DM for months at a time...

 

Best news first: I'll be promoted to Lieutenant Commander on Saturday - a full month or two ahead of what I thought. Woohoo! Lor and Charis, if you play your cards right, you might even get to <gasp> see pictures of me and the dreaded gold oak leaf (or 2.5 stripes, depending on the outfit).

 

Next: I managed to sign a lease for a condo in Chicago and get myself registered at Northwestern University for my leadership Master's starting in September. I'll be relieved of my command in a ceremony aboard the ship on August 10, and then start the move.

 

Finally: I enjoyed a busy, but productive deployment with the ship and crew. Everything is going well, but busy - and it's purely my fault for not making the time to visit.

 

I also finished up a new edition of the ship's newsletter (a month old, but has good pics) - if you'd like a copy, all you have to do is PM or e-mail me with your electronic address and I'll get it to you.

 

I miss you a whole bunch. Please reply to this post and let me know how you are and what's going on. I have a ton of reading to do here on the site, and there's no way I'm going to finish it in a single night!

Last time I checked, I have the normal issue of 32 teeth, or however many we're supposed to have after the dentists yank the ones in the way back.

Rai, don't worry, I'm plenty scared of what Charis might do, especially if she teams up with the Reds again. I'd be doomed - or at least have really radiant, smooth skin for a while.

 

Luckily I don't have a hairy enough chest to create a "Man O'Lantern" like in "The 40-Year-Old Virgin". Those Reds terrify me.
