And let us not forget the stone knife which hides you from shadowspawn.  that one we'll be seeing again, I'm sure of it...  ;)

As far as not being able to see bullets, remember that channels holding the Power have their senses enhanced; it's not entirely inconceivable that one could see a bullet.

Be that as it may, I doubt we'll see small arms appear in this series.  Historically, the time between the appearance of the first rudimentary cannon and the first portable small arms was significant.  Like decades, if not a century or so.

My two coppers...

As to gunpowder, would the Forsaken even know what gunpowder is? They are all from an uber-advanced civilization in the Age of Legends. ....... It seems to me that gunpowder weapons would be unknown to the forsaken.

Why would they have forgotten about/not have heard of gunpowder?

After all, we know what civilizations thousands of years BC were fighting with. If the culture of the AoL was so advanced, they'd have kept historical records. It might catch them by surprise, but I think they'd figure it out.

As I remember, even Mat had no memories of gunpowder is battle.

Isn't that because Mats memories are all from this Age? i.e. It hasn't been invented.

Since all of the Forsaken seem utterly disdainful of anything Third Age, might a .44 caliber ball catch one of them by surprise?

I'm hoping it'll be a serious injury that'll have to be healed. A poke in the eye from the savages, but nothing to really influence the Forsaken vs. Rand, Logain and the Wondergirls.

About the bullet and the Forsaken, it taking them by surprise might be doubtful.  Rand stopped a dagger that was thrown at him with Air, and it took little of the One Power to do it.  I imagine the Forsaken (and perhaps any channeler) could do the same with any item thrown at them; unless thrown items could become invisible.

And how could the Forsaken catch an object that they couldn’t see? A bullet in flight is invisible.

As a result, they’d have to rely on a shield of some sort. And, unless they went around with it permanently in place, they’d also have to have the reflexes of a cat to get it up in time.

In any case, I think this is a moot point.

RJ seems to have talked about these crossbow cranks too much to produce another WMD (because that’s precisely what loads of firearms would be in TG against waves of Trollocs) in time for the Last Battle. I think gunpowder’s impact on TG will be limited to Mats Dragons – that’ll be impressive enough.

Mass firearms suddenly popping up without any foreshadowing ... almost as hard to believe as the Aiel uber-army.

When Aviendha was figuring out that she had the ability to figure out what ter'angreal could do, she found a helmet.  It had "green and blue vines" I think.  She also mentioned that it controlled something else.

It controls the mech Elyane will pilot at the last battle.

And when she puts on this helmet this giantic, all destroying mech, will just magically appear out of nowhere? Who got the idea of the mech in the first place? And where is there any sign of this mech (besides the helmet which apperently only can be some sort mech-controlling device).

what is this mech? i don't remember it at the moment
It doesn't exist in the books. That's probably why you don't remember it.

Of course. It would just be ridiculous otherwise.

No, a big lake will open in the middle and with no water spilled, the mech will rise from a cave underneath the lake.

Something like that.

I figure once she learns how to activate the ter'angreal she can start up her mech from a remote location (where ever she's at) and do a "recall" command.  Then, from where ever it ended up during the breaking, it will force its way to the surface and march straight to Elayne, create problems on its own.

There are things in the blight the forsaken wouldn't willingly go against so the good guys will need some kind of tank.  They aren't going to just fight Trollocs and Fades.

And there was a vehicle called a "jumper."  Could be a mech, mech can jump.

so, what? you guys are just making random shit up?

Just speculating. There probably won't be Mechs in AMOL but after playing far too many hours of Quake Wars, I kind of hope there will be.

There will probably be no tanks, rifled muskets, or pistols, either. There will probably be something with a steam engine attached to it, and maybe some sort of glider, and Mat's canons, of couse.
