Who is Asmodean?

So, we know some favts about him, or at least I know some facts about him, but I want to know more. Cheers to the man/woman who write down lots of stuff about Asmodean, who I really don't have much against, despite that he was, a chosen one.

Asmodean was an acclaimed composer/singer/musician in the Age of Legends.  It is said that he never actually reached his supposed potential in music even though he aquired the prestigious third name.  (People were given a third name in the Age of Legends for great accomplishment to society as a sort of badge of honor and decoration.)  Asmodean is said to have joined the Dark One because the idea of having immortality appealed to him in that he could spend the rest of eternity perfecting his musicanship.  He is described as going over to the Dark One for "perhaps the strangest reason of all" (the music stuff) and is credited with maiming the other great musicians and artists after joining the Dark One, most likely so they could no longer practice their art but also to eliminate his competition; those who reached higher musically than he was able to before turning.

 

When he awoke from the Bore, Asmodean teamed up with Lanfear as we know and was then shielded and became Rand's teacher after Rand severed Asmodean's connection with the Dark One.  He became Rand's personal gleeman and was then killed in the Waste.

 

Uhm...he always had nice hair?  I really don't know what else to say.

Have you read the BWB?  It's as good a source as any as far as the AOL is concerned, though there is not a whole lot of information in there.  balefireruinssteaks has the main points correct, I believe.

its not been written down anywhere and likely never will be. they have told you as much as you can know. I read the BWB and thats the info we have been given about him.
