Hi all!

  I've been reading these boards for...well I don't know how long but never really mustered the energy to get involved or interact- I used them more as another excuse to reread and reinterpret the series. So all I'd like to do is just thank everyone on the boards for ALL the theories, explanations, etc.                           

  I've been reading the books since I was 12...I'm 26 now (ugh.) They've outlasted middle school, high school, the army, and the first two years of college (and more than likely will finish by the time I graduate college).

  Anyway- just wanted to express my appreciation for the site and all the people on it- and mebbe now I'll get into it.

Dive right in!  What are some of your interests?  It'll help us point you in a good direction if we know more about you.  There is a very active RP community here for example.  Whatever your hobbies, pass-times, obsessions, there's someone around here who shares it!

    Is that what its called? Lurking? Man...that sounds horrible. That just evokes this image of little beady eyes in the window above the hot tub at a hotel. Haha, well then good, I'm glad I'm not lurking anymore. Overall I'm not too interesting I think- I've cooled down on the fantasy reading (just this, ASoIaF, and Hobb)- mainly because of the waits between books tbh. Just plugging away at school, a little writing on the side, and trying to help a few army buddies get over their issues. I'd love to add more but I REALLY need to go and watch "The Phoenix Lights" (mebbe it's silly but I love UFO's and ghosts)

Writing you say!  Let me suggest, in a very non threatening newbie friendly way that you come over to the Illuminators and check out the Scribes,  we are the writer's group on DM.  Not that most everyone else doesn't dable but Scribes is where you can get excersises (gosh that is spelled so wrong I don't know how to fix it!) and critique's.  We even have a published author in our midst!  And we have fun just hide if you hear someone named Myndrunner say the word "Streak"! ;)

The Queen is right, if you have any desire to pursue writing further, the Scribes is your place. We do have great exercises  ;D and people are always willing to lend a helping hand in the Critique Circle. So stop on by.

welcome to DM, the wait as such aint that bad, try reading earths children by J.M.Auel general an average of 7 years between each book, luckily the next is the last, less it came out and i missed it *s*
