RJ has in all things gone for the realistic in the way people deal with things... i just don't see it.

Example's please.  How is a conversation with The Creator any more unrealistic than using the One Power to deal with ones problems?  Other than the use of magic, time travel etc, I thought the way people delt with problems in the Harry Potter series was mostly realistic as well.  If the bold, all caps quotations at the end of ETOW were infact the voice of The Creator (as I beleif they are), then I see them as forshadowing of further direct communications from/with the Creator.  And yes, I agree that WOT has remained rather realistic for a sci-fantasy story, however, I could still see the final battle with the DO getting a litte sureal.  I mean we are dealing with a being unlike anything the world has ever know residing in a separate reality (RJ did hint that we might see the inside of the DO's prison) so anything could happen.

It seems unlikely. The First Seal was not even broken at that stage, so far as we know--the manifest voice seems beyond the Dark One's capabilities.

But the first seal was found in the well at the Eye only after Rands' fight with Ba'alzamon, right? And it was broken already.

The examples are that conversation--the Creator shows no interest in getting involved, and in real life one does not have big long expositionary conversations with the Creator of All Existence. Yes, he's created fantastical elements within the book, but in every way has gona about dealing with that as realisitically as possible--he creates physical laws to real his mystical elements, and backs it up with a strong pragmacality that the characters have in dealing with it. Harry Potter does not have that--not even close. One need look no further than the way wizards live to see that.

So yes, i don't see that occuring.

Indeed, but in all other situations the seals have broken during the fights. Certainly the two at Falme were not broken prior to it.

Just a point about one of the earlier posts on this forum.... In what way is Taim a Chosen of the Light!!?? He's EVIL!!

My thoughts:

1) Creator not = to DO

2) Wheel always tries to balance Good and Evil- before LTT's time, war was unheard of. The world was too 'good' you could say. So the Forsaken came about and balanced things once more.

3) Ta'veren are spun out to restore balance in the Age Lace.

4) The DO selects 'chosen' for himself. They may vows and pledges and listen to what he says. Not so with the Light. Rather than saying 'chosen of the light' I would say 'spun out by the wheel to restore balance.' The Pattern was losing stability as the forsaken were due to break loose. With TG approaching, the Wheel spun out powerful beings to counter the Dark.

5) The Creator will not make an appearance in AMOL. I would find it extremely annoying and disappointing if he intervened in any way at TG.

6) The voice in TEOTW was NOT the DO. If the DO can communicate so, then the Forsaken need not go to the Bore to speak to him.

There you go. The conclusion drawn by my deluded brain. ;)

Disagree with Taim having anything to do with Light.

Agree that the Creator will appear in AMoL.

EDIT:  By "appear" I don't necessarily mean having time "on-screen".  But I do think he will play a role at TG.

From a metaphysical standpoint, I think the lines get a little blurry.

I mean the DO is the foil of the Creator.  Ishy/Moridin is the foil of Rand, sort of the "hero" for their side.  What then is SH?  I equate him to the "Eye" in LotR, in other words, a limited physical manifestation.  Could AMoL end the same?  Would the destruction of SH return the DO to the bore (then to have the seals restored)?  Or is it vice versa?  The re-sealing of the bore will mean the "death" of SH?
