This has been bugging me. In A Knife of Dreams when Mat takes Tuon to the hell, on the way back Mat's party of four ( 2 men & 2 women ) where jumped by 10-15 people. Why? Yes all four are badasses in thier on way but no one would have known that there. So i ask agian why?

I think it's because they were Darkfriends, and this was after the Forsaken had their meeting where they were told to kill Mat and Perrin and the Forsaken were told to pass the order to kill them to their Darkfriends. And I think there were so many because the guy with grey eyes (can't remember his name) met Mat in the dice game in the 'Hell' and would have gathered more Darkfriends to kill him.

The order to kill Mat came from way up. If someone is important enough to warrant a killorder from the do or a forsaken, they are proably someone, and it might be best to not go at him alone ;)

Deffinatly, besides Mat and TBotRH have gained a bit of a rep, so it's possiable they knew what they were faceing to some extent and decided not to take chances.

You are facing four people whose skills at defending themselves is at best unkown to you (its unclear whether they would have heard about Mat and Thom's skills with knives). Your best bet then is to overwhem them quickly with numbers.

If I was a DF (I think his name was Vane) and my Chosen told me to be on the lookout for a tavern connected to the Dragon Reborn, and then I was supposed to kill them, I'd bring my posse too!!

 

Lets not forget that Perrin had the archer assasins after him once someone noticed his eyes.
